I met with the owner David to plan a 40th work anniversary party for my wife. I have never received such specialized care. He and Susan totally designed a menu to our specifications, including filet mignon, fresh fish, fresh pasta, etc. He also reorganized the swamp for seating for 50 people. I met with Misa and Anna a few days before the event and they were in instrumental in making sure the room was decorated properly. With live entertainment and Sergey heading the wait staff the service was impeccable. The food was delicious and the surprise was awesome. I could not be happier. You should give Clare & Don’s a chance to do your private party. It will be awesome.

If Jimmy Buffett and the DMV had a love child, it’d be Clare and Don’s Beach Shack! The place just screams “good vibes only.” From fish tacos to coconut shrimp, everything tastes better with sand-in-your-shoes energy — minus the sand, thankfully.
Come summertime, the outdoor patio is the move — palm lights, breezy tunes, and frozen drinks that make you forget you’ve got Monday meetings. When fall rolls in, the indoor setup is just as fun — cozy, colorful, and still giving that beachy buzz.
It’s also the ultimate pre-concert hangout before The State Theatre. Park once, sip something tropical, then wander over to the show feeling like you’ve just returned from vacation.

I recently stopped by Clare and Don’s for a couple of drinks and some bites to eat. It’s been years since my last visit, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much their outdoor seating area has expanded.
The outdoor space is perfect for gathering with friends, especially during one of their fun events like live music or trivia nights. There’s plenty of room to bring your dogs, and it’s a relaxed spot where kids can run around and play. On a cooler day, it’s an ideal place to hang out, unwind, and enjoy the atmosphere.
As for the food, the shrimp wasn’t *too* easy to peel, but it was still tasty. The fish fingers were a bit bland on their own, but the dipping sauce more than made up for it–it was delicious. The staffer who waited on us was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the visit.

We sat outside, drank orange crushes, listened to great live music, and enjoyed delicious food! This place was packed but service was so friendly and prompt. Crab cake was my favorite: so much lump crab and a great price! We will definitely be back soon!

I grew up in Florida and this place nails it! Their authentic beachy atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff create a wonderful happy place for me. The crab cakes were 95% delicious meat and the margarita paired nicely. Fresh key lime pie perfectly concluded my afternoon at the beach.

The food here is not something I would recommend or eat again. I ordered the shrimp that was supposed to have lemon and butter on it. Unfortunately the shrimp tasted like dirty dish water. I was with friends and just didn’t eat the shrimp but was concerned about its freshness. The salad came straight from a bag. They placed the fries next to the zucchini so my fries were sopping wet. Overall, just concerned about the likelihood of getting food poisoning here. The service was good and I can see the attraction of outdoor bar seating in the summer. Overall, though, would not recommend.

Nice selection of seafood dishes with fried, grilled, blackened option. Nice choices in fish of the day (we had grouper). Fun beach atmosphere. Had deconstructed fish tacos which were very good. Indoor and outdoor seating.

The place is immaculate. The food is delicious. So hard to find delicious tasting vegan food at restaurants. The garlic and oil marinade, fried tofu, and vegetables were outstanding with every bite. My friend had a large portion of fried fish and said it was delicious. We wanted to just drink the salsa it was so good. Wish we could buy jars of it. They know what they are doing! Service was excellent. We got exactly what we pay for. We are going to be regulars.

Great place, great food! Stopped for lunch on a whim and restaurant is pretty eclectic with room for little ones to run around and play. Food is delicious, probably the best crab cake I’ve ever had.
