This place is a grab and go booth by Claire’s restaurant. They have their own menu plus they let you order from the restaurant’s menu.
Pros:
Great location, easy parking, food is tasty

Cones:
Disturbing hygienic behaviour by an employee:
We visited on December 21 at 12 pm. After placing my order I went to the bathroom (one room for all) which was busy. After a few minutes an employee left the bathroom. I noticed that he did not flush after himself. then, I came to wash my hands and there was no soap in the container. very disturbing!!

As for the food and service, this is not the first time that they mess up my order. Upon order they don’t ask for your name, don’t give you a number or a ticket. food comes out in a carton, unlabelled and people feel free to touch the container and look for their food. The employees work hard but are very busy and run from Place to Place, especially to the kitchen inside the restaurant, to grab the food.
My order had a specific substitute that was printed on their ticket and yet my order was messed up. I needed to wait another 10 minutes to get a new dish.

Comfy out of the way coffee house, snack bar, picnic or train snacks venue. All they need is wine and you’ll be all set for jumping the train to LA or heading over to the beach (literally across the street!).
Their coffee is the best! Strong flavorful and complex without bitterness. And you can buy beans right there! Pastries taste house made, same-day fresh with real cream cheese frosting. Delicious pastries with perfect“chew” and not dried out at all. Lots and lots of variety in the cases from sandwiches, to wraps, to burritos, to pastries cakes and cookies! Their drink selection is awesome too. Any espresso drink you might want (except no Flat White), including cold brew, and alternative drinks (like French lemonade), and traditional sodas too.
There is a lot of outdoor shaded seating available all around, including a large patio directly across with lovely raised succulent gardens, comfortable tables and chairs and even heaters for chilly morning.
This little gem is located just north of the restaurant and directly across N Cedros from the north end of the train/Coaster parking lot. So lots of easy parking available.
Honestly, I’m hesitant to post this review because we want to keep it a secret for ourselves.
One less star for OK service. Efficient and fast, but not very friendly. I like to feel like the staff are glad I’m there spending my money. Of course we will try again another day, and I’ll upgrade my service star if improved. Maybe they were just not having a good day.

$10 for a sandwich in this economy is an absolute steal. I got the fig, bacon, and brie panini, which was a perfect combination after a hike. There was a slight taste of ginger, which I was confused about. I wish it was a little bit warmer, but it would’ve been cold if I had taken it to the beach anyway (which was my original plan). There are some really cute picnic benches outside and free water inside.

Claire’s Too is a convenient to-go coffee shop and more, located right next door to Claire’s on Cedros in Solana Beach, California. Both establishments are charming and situated just a couple of blocks from Fletcher’s Cove, making it a great spot to grab a coffee or snack before heading to the beach, which is exactly what I did.

I decided to get a turkey panini, although I was very tempted by the delicious-looking pastries. The menu mentioned that the turkey panini included cranberries and deli mustard, but neither was on my sandwich. When I inquired about it, the lady at the counter seemed a bit annoyed but did go to the main restaurant to get me a side. Unfortunately, she only returned with cranberry sauce and no deli mustard, which was disappointing. Additionally, the turkey did not fully cover the bread, leaving a quarter of it as plain toasted bread. Despite these issues, the sandwich was tasty enough.

Overall, Claire’s Too is a good spot for a quick bite or coffee, but be mindful of potential discrepancies with menu descriptions. The staff’s response could have been more accommodating, but the quality of the food was satisfactory. I would still recommend giving it a try, especially for their beverages and pastries.

Additional Information:

Great location near Fletcher’s Cove for a beach day.
Offers a small picnic area for a quick outdoor snack.
Variety of specialty coffees, snacks, and pastries available.
Check your order for accuracy, as some ingredients might be missing.
The main restaurant next door, Claire’s on Cedros, is also worth a visit for a more extensive dining experience.

Claire’s Too – to-go coffee spot is the little cafe next to the restaurant.

The line was long and there are barely seating for this cafe.

The employees were very friendly and working hard!

There is a little bathroom available behind the register on the right side. It’s semi-clean.

They have plenty of extra napkins in the top drawer under the sugar and utensils and straws.

We also ordered the already made fig and bacon and brie panini (they heated it up for us) and it was delicious!
However, that was the only good thing there. The coffee was selling for great prices at $2-$3.50 for 12oz. Turns out, the coffee was grainy and I got honey lavender latte which wasn’t even sweet! I had to take my drink back and ask for more honey. The lady was nice and added it but it still didn’t taste great and had that grainy texture after every sip. Very disappointing.

When you wait for your seat for the brunch place next door, this is the place you should go to grab a coffee and enjoy the waiting time. The coffee is very nice, we had a americano and a coconut cortado, both are nice. We also came back to grab their home made cookies after our meal because they served us after with the check. It was so delicious! It’s the cookie scone!

This place is a hidden gem, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The coffee was not only delicious, and we really enjoyed the delicious pastries . The avocado toast was a particular standout, we loved it. Although the brûlée oatmeal didn’t quite match up to our expectations, the overall experience was still impressive. The staff’s warm and welcoming demeanor added to the positive atmosphere, making our visit all the more enjoyable. The only down side was that there was only one person so the service was slow but before we’ve left another staff member arrived.
In conclusion, this coffee place is a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of great coffee, delectable pastries, and a cozy ambiance.

What a disappointment! As a longtime fan of Claire’s on Cedros, I decided to try Claire’s Too. No cinnamon rolls, tiny croissants, and the muffins I ordered were overpriced at over $3.50 each for barely a couple of bites. To top it off, the register auto-selected a 22% tip for simply bagging my 2 miniscule pastries. Feels like a rip-off. Stick to the original Claire’s and skip this place.

You’re here as much for the vibe as the coffee/pastries. I ordered the coffee so that’s nice but not outstanding. You can tell that it’s the place where local wannabe cool kids hang out.

I do dig the vibe and the location. Great for just sitting there to relax and laze your day away and work. It’s right by your Solana Beach station so you can watch the train goes by if that’s your thing
