A cool local pizzeria, in(Clayton) not Plainfield.. although they do have a take out version in Plainfield. This tapbar location has a buffet on Sunday. The locals definitely know the schedule so make plans to arrive early to get a seat. Great food, pizza was delicious just a little cold..especially if you’re sitting in the back back room. (They should cater that area separately). Overall..a nice restaurant, pleasant workers, and great options of beers to try. My wife lived the salad bar..two trips A for sure try..as I eat and review a lot of out of pocket restaurants…

Passing through Clayton, In. Going back home to Chicago. I stopped in for a bite to eat. When you walk in staff greets you with a hello. I wasn’t that hungry I noticed they had an unlimited salad bar. Omg that was the best everything was fresh. I also noticed pizzas were flying out the kitchen that looked amazing.

I ordered a pizza to go and picked it up on a Sunday around Noon. The two young lady’s at the register were very nice and prompt. The pizza cook must be different today, I’ve gotten pizza here many times, it’s close and I like their pizza. Today’s pizza was perfect, I ordered Sausage Pepperoni and Mushroom. There was just the right amount of sauce and other ingredients. I’ve had pizza there before that was a little dry due to not enough pizza sauce. Thanks to the cook preparing my pizza and the to young ladies es for getting me out of there quickly. I even put the pizza in our oven on warm until Football was getting ready to start. Thank You CJ’s for putting your restaurant in Belleville IN. I can even order on Door Dash and I’m in the country by Amo. Amo pizza doesn’t offer a thin crust or I’d order from there more often.

I stopped by for lunch and purchased the sausage rolls. The rolls was light and airy and they tasted so good. This was my first time visiting and trying the food. My personal take on the rolls is they tasted like mini pizza’s in your mouth. Not pizza rolls but actually like you’re bitting into a slice of pizza. They had a lot of different dipping sauces as well. It really was that good. I didn’t rate the atmosphere because it was early in the day and they just opened plus I ordered carryout. Nonetheless, people were still inside and out enjoying their meals. There was an area inside the building that had arcades for kids and a tap room for 21+. The staff were friendly and overall I was happy with my whole experience.

An older waitress was working when I inquired about the price of the salad bar; she didn’t provide one but said our order would be ready shortly.
Several parties arrived and were attended all whilst eating our pizza without drinks.

We weren’t served so we departed and paid for the pizza. The elderly waitress wasn’t the owner as I had assumed. The day service was honestly concerning & poor!

Do not skip this one!! GREAT quality food… hand made everything! And the self pour beer system is awesome! Taste test a bunch of locals then pick your favorite! Calzone might have been the best ive ever had… it was competing against old memories of a place ling closed down… but boy theirs sure brought back those memories. Dad got the wings! He’s from Buffalo NY… you know where Buffalo wings originated from… those were some healthy chickens! Huge wings great sauce! I would have taken a picture but we were too eager to dive in! Get to CJ’s! Its GREAT!

This was our first and definitely not our last visit. We ordered the Cheese Bread and it did not disappoint. It was full of stretchy cheese on top of a puffy dough with a crispy crust with a nice chew. I could have had that as my main dish it was that delicious. For the main course we ordered the Addy’s Favorite XL Pizza, and that was equally delicious. Again, lots of stretchy cheese with a puffy dough, and once again a crispy crust with a good chew that is reminiscent of a NY Style Pizza. I also like the nice selection of beers to choose from. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive.

Not exaggerating when I say this is the worst pizza I have ever had. Basically just puddles of flavorless greasy slop. Don’t get delivery if you want your pizza in a reasonable time at all. Don’t get delivery unless you like all your cheese and toppings loaded on one side because the pizza delivery driver doesn’t know how to deliver pizzas. Don’t get delivery if you want to receive all the sauces you paid for. If be absolutely gobsmacked if you can stomach more than two slices of this stuff. Egregious for the unjustifiably high price.

We visited CJs pizza in Clayton and is was so unique. The tap room is so ingenious, you have a pour card and sample self serve style, any one of the current guest beers. We went for the beer, but we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and selection of food.
