Went there for brunch on Sunday. We were a group of 8 (6 adults 2 kids). Great service and wonderful food. The steak and eggs were cooked to perfection. The truffle fries were crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The cinnamon rolls were huge, easily big enough for two and very tasty. I had the eggs Benedict and it was delicious. The chef came out to check on us and ask how we liked our meals. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I wanted to have a steak at a restaurant that is not a chain on a Friday night. We checked out the menu online, and decided we’d try Citywalk.

We made reservations online, and when we got there, they had a table prepared with a “reserved” sign on it waiting for us. Our server was Bryn, and he was very friendly, attentive, and helped set the positive vibe for the evening.

We started off with drinks. We both had a smoked old fashioned, and I’ll tell you that of the hundreds of old fashioned drinks I’ve had at top notch restaurants across North America, this was one of the best presentations of a smoked old fashioned. The drink was as good as it looked.

We ordered appetizers. We had hoped to try their Brussels sprouts, but thy were out of stock. From other reviews I have read, it must be because they are so popular. Instead, we had crab arancini, and it was very good. The sauces were flavorful – two sauces with very different sensations.

We ordered Delmonico ribeyes. They were a good size, cooked to medium as we had asked, and were nicely seasoned. My wife ordered sautéed onions with hers and she said it was great. Her side was risotto and I asked for fries. Both came hot and with great taste.

I wanted to try their “Tropical Tango” cocktail, but they were out of that, too. Instead, we had their Georgia Peach Mule, and it may have been the tastiest mule I’ve ever had. The peach flavor was perfect, and there was not too much ginger beer taste.

I gave the atmosphere 4 stars. There was nothing at all wrong with the location, the service, or the food (other than being out of a couple of popular items). Cedar Rapids has very few high end restaurants and this place could be one of them if they invest in upgrading the furniture, decorations, and music. All of that was “fine,” just not the “fine dining” vibe. It don’t let that be a reason that you don’t try this place. It met our expectations on all of the important things. Shout out again to Bryn, he was very welcoming and helpful.

We were driving through town and needed to eat a late lunch and picked a place that was right off the interstate and had good reviews. We found a parking space close by and were able to sit down right away. We asked the server what they were known for and what was good on the menu and she really couldn’t give us any direction, which I thought was odd. After a bit of prompting she eventually she did tell us what most people order and like. When the brussel sprouts came I was so hungry and started eating I forgot to take a picture. They were absolutely delicious! The rice bowl we got was also amazing and full of flavor. If I was rating it just on the food alone I would have given it a five. But there are definite things that need to be improved. I don’t know if they were in the middle of decorating for Valentine’s Day (It was a Friday and the 13th so that should have been done already) but it was a bit of a mess. Maybe they were preparing for a big event the next day? Also, I know it’s winter in Iowa but the windows were absolutely filthy and there was plenty that needed to be taken care of outside. There was a fallen metal piece from the railing and all the pots still had dead plants inside them. It’s been beautiful in Iowa the last 2 weeks so this definitely could have been taken care of. Optically it just looks bad. The menu was also dirty, which was one of my first impressions. There really wasn’t anything on the table except for one me for a little candle. Again, maybe they were adding more for the evening. I would recommend going there for the location and the food. I would go again.

We came to Citywalk after a recommendation from our Airbnb host. They certainly didn’t disappoint. Evan was able to get us in on a busy concert night without a reservation. Enjoyed a quick meal that didnt disappoint. Evan was a great server and his recommendation of the seafood chowder was on point. The smoked old fashioned was top notch and a pour of Stagg after didn’t hurt. We will be back next time we’re in Cedar Rapids.

Stopped to eat here after my other dinner plans fell through, really enjoyed the whole vibe! Food was good, atmosphere was fun with some fun evening music to bop to. Our server, Bryn, was a hoot too, had us laughing the entire night! Would come again. Strongly suggest the pon-cherry mule, it hit the spot.
