Just went here on a whim passing by. Surprisingly the burger was pretty good, atleast the one I got. It was the tavern burger and my friend got the clucker which he liked so much, he order a other to go. The fries was decent amount, enough Id say and prices arent too bad.

Came in on Sept 9 for dinner. Our waitress was named Amy. She was new but went over the menu and answered questions like a pro. I was there with 3 grandkids and my 2 sons to celebrate my son’s BD which was last week.my grandson and I was on one tab and he ordered some kind of loaded tots. It might have been an appetizer. I wasn’t extremely hungry so I went for the light appetite menu with chicken tenders and onion rings. They were delicious. The tenders were huge and meaty. Others ordered burgers and a spaghetti grilled cheese and burgers. Needless to say we did NOT need take out boxes because we all finished it off. Sampling each others food. Can’t wait to bring my husband back. It was good and tasty and reasonable priced! Service was awesome too.

We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese for our appetizer and we were incredibly disappointed when we received it. The pretzels were unashamedly frozen pretzels likely great value brand from Walmart which wouldn’t be the WORST thing if they weren’t charging $11 for 3 of them. The name brand frozen pretzels would have tasted better. The “beer” cheese was ok at best and tasted like chex mix seasoning, which while not horrible,is an odd choice.
Next up frozen microwaved steam bag broccoli. I could tell it was microwaved because there were random isolated hot spots throughout both mine and my wife’s side order of steamed broccoli. It wasn’t buttered or seasoned in any way either.
And last but not least the burgers. The burgers are definitely frozen premade patties. You can tell by the texture and the shape of the patties.I ordered a simple cheese burger with ketchup, mustard and pickles. They charged me an extra dollar for the cheese and didn’t even add the pickles and charged me $13 for it. My wife got the bacon Marmalade burger without tomato. They put a tomato on it anyways. She said hers was pretty good, but could tell it was a frozen patty as well.
Our waitress acted entirely disinterested and as if she had a million better things to do (the restaurant was nearly empty) and was generally kinda rude and took her a long time to even show up to get our drink orders.
They also charge a “convenience fee” if you use a credit card. Absolutely pathetic.
Please avoid this place unless you want to pay top dollar for terrible quality food. I’m so disappointed. Avoid at all costs.

I went and dined in the other day, friendly server however when the food arrived the waffles where definitely under cooked and I said I didn’t really like the food and the server didn’t offer any solution. Also the chicken had some yellowing on it, HOWEVER once I got home I went to eat my salad and as soon as I opened the ranch their was a brown hair in it. I’m not pleased at all.

Love this place. Prices are a little steep, especially for the drinks. My experience for the most part is that they underpour.Instead of overpower or even pour correctly. I usually have the older more established bartenders. Pour my drinks because the newer ones just don’t do it right and you don’t feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. The staff likes to sit around on their phones a lot. Especially at the bar or in the lobby, which is unprofessional at best, but the world is changing.So I guess these standards are acceptable. Food is good prices are high.Staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is decent. I’m not gonna duck them for the phone’s or the lack of attention. Some of the staff members have because in an overall sense. This place is unique and fun. Just don’t expect people to move promptly.Don’t expect your food fast, and don’t expect to find any bargains. It’s great place for large parties though.

All around excellent experience. Ingredients were fresh, burger flame broiled and beer cold from the tap! Waiter was polite and attentive. Atmosphere was subdued and comfortable. Probably the best fried pickles on the planet.

Huge bar and great open, sports bar atmosphere with garage doors that allow for an open air feeling. Service is very hit or miss. Menu includes a variety of sandwiches and burgers.

Let’s start on a positive note, service was friendly, attentive and on the ball. The fried pickles easily stole the show. Now it’s time for some honest criticism hopefully constructive, the artichoke dip was at the bottom of any I’ve ordered over the years. I would suggest finding a new recipe or make sure the staff are following a recipe. When a hamburger is ordered rare to medium it can be seen as pink in the middle, not raw to the point there is no texture with it raw cold to the outer edges. If you’re serving a salad where the romaine lettuce is brown I think it’s time to throw it and open a new bag, or better slice fresh, someone should have been embarrassed to send it to a table. We have been here many times over the years and can say it went from a restaurant bar to at best a bar with bar food.

This was a great experience dining at City Tavern. Bethany was our server, and she was so nice and friendly. She explained about the different options on their menu. It took us a while to decide on what we were going to eat, and Bethany was so patient with us, and told us to take our time and kept checking back with us. We had the crispy brussel leaves as an appetizer. My date had the shrimp tacos, with a side salad. I had the 10-ounce barrel cut filet., with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. It is a very relaxed environment with outdoor and indoor seating along with seating at the bar. They have a lot of different options of food and drinks on their menu. They have several tv’s with different things playing on them around the bar. Stop in and check them out when you are near and ask for Bethany as your server. She was great.
