Best thing I can say about City Slice is the service is okay. The inside is drab and unexciting, pizza is a half notch better than Digiorno and the floors looked like they could use a good cleaning. Tried the cheese sticks with purple sauce and it tasted like the charred crust they were baked on. Do yourself a favor, travel a quarter mile further and order out at Howie’s it’s a step up.

I loved City Slice when it was near campus on E Chimes. Went there most afternoons for lunch. Now that they have relocated the pizza is mediocre sadness. First off, no more $6.50 slice. No more slice at all actually. Just 10” and 16” pizzas. Also it doesn’t have that Smokey taste with bits of crispy burnt thin crust that was fantastic. Kinda reminds me a Chuck E Cheese pizza now and stingy with the toppings. Was the palest pizza ever and almost had a playdough texture.I hope they decide to go back to how the pizza was. As it is now, I won’t be returning

The food was great, our seating was great, the surrounding feel for the place was great. Families brought their kids and made this felt like home. my only slight issue was the staff. The waiter could use a bit more training because there were times he seemed a bit disoriented even though he was super nice. The lady behind the counter also seemed unfocused. I’m really trying not to bash because the food was outstanding, but some customers’ service skills and context clues does go a long way.

Our waitress was great – Kitchen needs help. We order all at the same time but my kids finished both their 10” pizzas before mine made it to the table. Way under cooked. Had to take it home to finish cooking it. Cheese wasn’t melted and the topping was room temp. Made the wrong flavored wings too. My kids pizzas were great.

A bit of a dive, needs some work but looks like the place is up for lease. Pizza was good, love the crust and the purple sauce was a bit spicy but tasted yummy. Smoked wings had great flavor but wish they’d been a bit warmer when served.

I started coming to City Slice because it’s close to my classes at LSU. The service is always awfully slow. In a restaurant with barely any patrons (at least whenever I go), I’m scratching my head at how slow the service is. My server today was nice, but he disappeared for like 20 minutes and then once he got back was on his phone behind the bar and still didn’t check on me. I had been sitting waiting to let him know that my BYO pizza had a giant chunk of ground beef on it. I don’t eat meat and that’s not what I ordered. My entire appetite died and I had a little more than half the pizza left. Once I was finally checked on and talked about the situation, the waiter awkwardly asked me if I still wanted to pay or void the check. All I had ordered was the pizza that I couldn’t eat, so of course I wanted to void. He followed my wishes which was appreciated.
I won’t be coming back due to the service and the fact that I don’t feel like I can trust the kitchen.
I got my food at 1:49 pm and was not checking on again until 2:21 pm. This was on 11/12/24.

I ordered delivery and won’t again – the pizza dough is still raw and I’m pretty sure they just used mayo for their “white sauce.” The dough is overloaded with cornmeal on the bottom. It’s gritty and doughy and disgusting. And it’s not even hot. Last time I went in person with a small group of friends to the Chimes St. location and it took an hour to get our food and the staff acted annoyed with us the whole time. Tonight I thought, maybe they just had a bad day. Towne Square pizza is already closed – I’ll give City Slice another shot. Bad idea.

My husband and I went on our first date to City Slice when it was on E. Chimes. We were obsessed with City Slice and would go back often to enjoy the Flying Pig pizza. We visited the new location on Nicholson and we were so incredibly disappointed to the point we will not be going back. I am not sure if it is under new ownership or what changed. But the pizza was sub par and this is coming from two people who used to rave about how good City Slice was. The crust wasn’t the same, the menu is very different, the service was not good, and the atmosphere was like I was still at pluckers. It isn’t the same City Slice and might have been better calling it something different so that the expectations weren’t there.
I write this review with hopes to go back and that something changes for the better. Because we sure do miss that delicious pizza.

Visited on LSU homecoming weekend, was a bit packed but didn’t take too long to be seated. Our waitress was super nice and helpful in deciding on food and drinks for our table. Wings were my favorite and pizza was pretty good too. Will definitely be coming back to visit.
