The food was good with a wide variety at the buffet. The hibachi section is great except I believe that my food was switched with someone else’s by the chef. We got similar things but they wound up with spicy food they didn’t want.
The lobby and seating area were nice and comfortable. Thebathrooms were clean and smelled pleasant.
I would go again for sure.

⚠️ Absolutely unacceptable experience at City King Buffet – Mount Sterling, KY.
I normally don’t leave reviews like this, but this place earned it.
I would literally give them 0 Stars if I could!!!!
First off, half of the food was cold, which was already disappointing. But that’s not even the worst part. While we were dining, I found what looked like a piece of balloon or rubber inside my egg roll. Yes — actual foreign material in my food. I have photos and kept the piece.
Then, my 13-year-old brother slipped and fell on a wet floor where there were NO wet floor signs at all. I was walking right behind him holding my 6-month-old baby. It could have just as easily been me falling with my baby in my arms. Instead, it was my little brother who ended up hurt.
Not only did no one apologize or show any concern, but the woman at the front counter was extremely rude when we brought it up. She actually tried to fight us on paying the entire bill — even after I made it very clear we were not paying for this mess. Their solution? A pathetic $10 off a $70 bill like nothing happened.
No apology. No manager stepping in. No basic human decency.
This is both a food safety issue and a liability issue. They have cameras that clearly show what happened, and trust me — this isn’t over. I’ll be filing a complaint with the health department and pursuing this further.
Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place. ❌
If they can’t keep their floors safe or their food clean, they shouldn’t be serving the public.

If you’ve ever watched the movie national Lampoon’s Vegas vacation, the buffet here is pretty much like that movie. Everything was completely dry and hard as a rock some of it was sloppy and had no flavor. It was clean and the service was good but probably the worst Chinese buffet that I have ever eaten.

Very bad business got no service from waiter got put in room and forgot about. Had to even ask for the check to find out they stamped it with a 18 dollar tip. Told them I always tip but not when the waiter did no work for the tip. Been going for years and now they add the tip with out you knowing no I want be back. And yes lady at register was very rude when I tried to tell her the waiter never came back to us. Sure hope someone opens up a Chinese restaurant in town that has respect for their customers. I am going to post it every where.

Food that should have been hot wasn’t. Soup bows weren’t clean. Dangerous that the food wasn’t kept at the right temperature. Should be inspected more frequently.Health inspectors in Montgomery county should get on the ball before someone gets seriously ill.

This is our go-to place for Chinese food in the Mount Sterling area. We normally do take out and honestly feel like the takeout is better than what’s on the buffet. They’re Singapore noodles are very good.

Really great Chinese buffet .!! They had alot of options as a Chinese buffet should have.! They had hibachi and sushi too.! I didn’t get a chance to try everything but what I did eat was really good. The sushi I tried was super good and the fried or grilled shrimp plus the lady was fast and was on it with her attending all her tables.!!

We eat here almost every Sunday and the food is delicious and hot and great variety too. Waters and waitresses are very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant.
