City Diner is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have excellent food and cook to order. The service is so friendly and efficient! The atmosphere is very warm and homie. The prices are very reasonable.

We were immediately greeted and seated. The atmosphere was upbeat and felt very warm and inviting. Our waitress was kind and took our drink and food order within 10 minutes of being seated. The food came out very quickly and hot. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with sausage and a side of home fries. Both were delicious! When we return to Richmond, this restaurant will be on our list to return to.

I loved the food (French Toast with Blueberries), loved our waitress, and definitely loved the atmosphere! It’s a great place to be a regular and a wonderful place to visit if you are from out of town. It’s close to the highway and it’s right by all the great museums and breweries. And the most fun museums for all ages (The Science Museum of Virginia and The Children’s Museum) are right across the street.

Stayed over night near this diner and stopped in for breakfast. If busy city diners are your vibe then you’ll love this established. Menu selection is excellent. On the morning of our visit tho only two waitresses were covering all patrons they kept busy and things flowed amazing well. They were supported by a compliment of fast paced cooks and a lively gentleman at the cash register.

Amazing place to stop. I had the French toast and it was fluffy, perfectly so, and the coffee is quite nice. Service was quick despite it being reasonably busy when I visited. Heather served me and Russo cooked. The French toast also smelled amazing and they gave me more than enough syrup to drown the toast if I pleased.

Had a great breakfast at the diner. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere. Employees were happy and friendly. The food was excellent…very plentiful portions. Sausage gravy and biscuits were very good. Easy to get to and parking was easy.

My favorite place to eat. Everything I’ve tried on the menu is wonderful. Big portions for reasonable prices. You get to see the chefs making the food. There are so many options on the menu that range from all kinds of stuff.

I was honestly a bit disappointed with this place because of how positive the reviews are. The prices have gone up dramatically over the years (I could have gone to a much nicer place in the area for the same price), it’s super noisy, and the food was good but not great.
I got the fish (catfish) and chips, and I feel like I honestly didn’t get that much food. Normally places give you a ton of fries, but I only got a handful, and the catfish kept on falling apart in the sauce. It was also very bready. It looks like a lot when you get it, but it’s honestly not a lot.
My waitress was very nice though, and the service was pretty on par. I was really happy about the speed of the food and the free parking though!
It just was an eh experience overall. I won’t be back.
