We ordered two 8oz acai bowls. One was mounded over the rim of the bowl. The other barely came to the rim. After a bite or two I realized there was barely any acai..like not even enough to cover the bottom of the bowl. You could see from the sides that the other bowl that it had 2-3x as much acai for the same size and price. I politely let the staff know and attempted to show them my bowl but I was blown off and told that is just the 8 oz bowl. I tried to show them by using my spoon to slide the toppings and granola apart and shared that the other bowl was mounded up and this one barely came to the rim . The person was pretty exasperated and said I guess we can remake it for you. The response was a bit shocking. $10 for literally six bites of food. The customer at the table next to us was frustrated that they paid $7 for a piece of plain toast..like pain white bread toasted. Like every local chain that comes to TVL, it has gone downhill and become unrecognizable from the place it was at first. I don’t know what happens when local chains or big nicer chains come to TVL but something does. They are great at first and then after a few months or a year they go downhill and are just not good anymore. This has happened with Edgars, Panera, Zoes and now City Bowls.
In the photo I had taken two bites from the left side but the right side was completely untouched.

My bowl was fresh, chilled , and plentiful. Parking was limited but its located in a cute little shopping center.! It seemed pretty busy so I’d advise ordering ahead. I Can’t wait to visit again.

I usually order from City Bowls on DoorDash and never have a problem and my bowls are wonderful. I decided to go to their Trussville location today for the first time and when I walked in I wasn’t greeted. That’s okay, maybe they’re busy or having a bad start to their morning. As a fellow food industry worker I understand tough days or just not having the energy to put on a customer service attitude but the two ladies I interacted with were rude and short with me. My bowl was made great, I just wish the customer service was a bit friendlier and welcoming.

Came in 30 min before closing and they had put up a lot of the toppings. They told us they were about to close – which we knew but weren’t gonna take long at all. They asked if we could eat outside because they were about to close in 40 degree weather with our 3 kids yet we have 15 min til close. We said no, we will be quick. 5 min til close; we got asked to leave. Insane – I have never encountered such rush and disrespect from a restaurant and this was our first and last visit there. The staff was 3 teen boys.

Disappointed to pay for a large and the bowl to be only 2/3 full. Unacceptable. People there are always friendly but staff should be trained to give the customer what they paid for.

Horrible service and not friendly. Will never visit again. Learn some manners and quit acting like people are bothering you. The girl with the dark black hair needs to be fired.. with her ugly attitude. The blonde hair girl was the only nice one..

Out of all of the acai bowls i’ve ever had, City Bowls reigns supreme. They are #1 for the best bowls over Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Smoothie King, Planet Smoothie, Fruitta Bowls, & Everbowl. I always find myself comparing a bowl to my order at City Bowls. The OG Bowl with extra honey is my go to order! Plain & simple; the granola is sweet & crunchy; the acai at the bottom of the bowl is to die for!

I’ve ordered online from this location twice and each time there’s always something wrong. First time I paid for extra granola on the bottom of the bowl, and I paid the $1.00 extra for it, and there was no extra granola at the bottom when I got my bowl. The second time was today and I ordered pick up and by the time I got there, which was the time for pick up, they were still working on it. And I waited 15 minutes and by the time I got my bowl, the açaí base had melted. I’m not sure how the bowls are or the service is when ordering in store, but I will never ever order online for pick up again. Just not worth it.

I got the small powerhouse bowl and it was awesome! The fruit was fresh and sweet. The peanut butter, Nutella and granola had me happy at every spoonful. I loved just how crunchy the granola was. The texture and flavor combo was music to my mouth.
It wasn’t busy around lunch time and I was surprised to see a door dasher in line.
I have never been and I’m going back often. I never thought I’d get excited about a fruit bowl place but I am delightfully impressed.
P.s. The name reminded me of a certain Chinese restaurant and this is not chinese.

Employees were nice and everything was good… just such a small amount given. Pretty disappointed honestly considering we were really looking forward to this. $20 spent and we’ll be hunting for more food in the next hour. I didn’t want to call out the girl making them, she was nice and surely this was just how she was trained to fill them. So for management, look at how other bowl companies serve. Most have to smash the food down to fit the bowl.
