Best BBQ in Grand Rapids! You can’t tell me otherwise! (but please try so I can check it out) The food is always on point. I could sit here and tell you about each meat and how delicious they are. But I won’t waste your time try it for yourself. And what makes this joint top-notch, is the service. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied.

Me and my significant other decided to stop by while having a day trip in GR and WOW! The banana pudding was made that morning and we honestly ate nearly all of our banana pudding before even trying our entrees. Portions are very generous and food came out within 2 minutes of ordering. Phenomenal.

Everything was delicious. The meats were tender and well seasoned. All of the sides had nice flavor. The hush puppies were a little too fired for my liking but overall DELICIOUS! 10/10 recommend! The man that took my order was very pleasant. There was one young lady that wasn’t very personable, but good visit despite that.

We stopped in on Mother’s Day for lunch it was not really busy, but it still took 15 minutes to order. After ordering the service was great less than 5 minutes. I had the Pastrami Reuben which was great, full of flavor from the meat to the coleslaw. The Mac & Cheese was good, I like to add a little sauce for a kick. My wife ordered 2 meats 2 sides brisket & turkey with Mac & Cheese and green beans. She liked them all very much and had some leftovers for dinner. The loaded pastrami fries were a hit as well, even the naked fries were good.

When we first walked in we could smell the food and it smelled great, we were immediately greeted by the managers Keijan and Erik. The place was super nice and clean. We got the brisket which was super moist and i loved the greened. Jenny brought us our food and was nice! the hospitality was super nice and great experience. 10/10 would recommend definitely coming back!

For 2 people we were able to get 2 sampler platters for under $50 and try everything we wanted to try. Our top recommendations are the smoked chicken leg/thigh, ribs, and sausage, with hush puppies and potato salad. The banana pudding was also very good, I liked the addition of salted caramel on top. Jen was very nice and helpful when we were ordering and the food didn’t take too long to come out. Great experience overall!!!

Went there for the first time yesterday for lunch. We spent over $80 for food that was reminiscent of picking through the cold leftovers the catering company leaves behind after the party. The brisket was dry and you could tell it was old. I was so excited to try this place, and was extremely disappointed. I would have given 1 star but my daughter liked the ridiculously small side of collard greens.

Fast casual BBQ that’s nothing special. Even though you could smell the smoke walking in, I couldn’t taste any in my food. We also stood in line for several minutes with other patrons waiting on someone to come take our order. At least the manager that was on break notices and proceeded to berate the staff for allowing that to happen. I got the pulled pork sandwich with fries and again nothing special. I tried all the BBQ sauces they had available, and that was more of a exercise in process of elimination as none of them were particularly good. The sandwich was tender, but plain. The meat didn’t taste as if it had any seasoning beyond s&p. You apparently have to choose coleslaw as a side to get any, and they have self serve pickles. Suffice to say they wouldn’t last long down south, to many excellent options. I’m more of the parking lot, side of the road BBQ purveyor.

Some had the Nashville hot chicken. That too was crispy and tasty.
Others had pulled pork sandwiches. They were delicious.
No one had any complaints about flavor, we all really enjoyed the meals we had together.
If you want tasty bbq quick stop on by.

We came on a Sunday evening and ordered pulled pork, brisket, and some ribs. The person taking our order told us the ribs were coming right out of the smoker just as we ordered and would be worth the wait. We also got collard greens and baked beans as sides. We got our food lightning fast. Everything was delicious but the fresh ribs were the star of the show. They were some of the best I’ve had in Grand Rapids with a great run seasoning them perfectly. They also had a bit of chew which is exactly how I like my ribs. I don’t like ribs that have the texture of being boiled. These were divine. The manager and staff were extremely friendly and courteous. We love City Barbeque and think it’s the best BBQ joint in town.
