SHRINKFLATION… WOW! Ordered 1/2 lb Turkey (carry-out). What I got was three slices of turkey in a paper tray. I questioned the employee and was told they don’t always put half pounds in plastic trays. REALLY? The dine in customer ahead of me walked away from the counter with a black plastic container filled with turkey
Recommendation: Don’t eat here… drive to another City BBQ!

I ordered chili and banana pudding to go. The chili was really good and chunky, as well as the banana pudding, until I found a gnat in it. At first, it looked like the black tip of a banana, but after further inspection, it was an actual gnat. You can tell how dirty a restaurant is by what you find in the food.
With that being said, im sure theres a bunch of trash or something laying around in the kitchen and isnt cleaned thoroughly daily.
What a waste of a pint of banana pudding…I hope they clean up or keep the pudding covered and refrigerated at all times.
Will not be returning to this location.

Food was good, restaurant was nice. Ordered one pound of pulled pork from the family meal. That pork was served to us on wax paper that was on a silver tray (see pic). Should have been served in some kind of a container. Corn bread that came with family meal was missing. Had to return to service counter to get it

Brisket by far is my favorite, their fries are outstanding as well. Try and save room for the peach cobbler, it is the best bar none. We normally pack a cooler with ice packs to take the cobbler home if we can’t eat in store. It heats up very well in a microwave. Do not miss it.

Ordered a city sampler and asked to sub pulled pork for additional brisket. Lady said I could do that but didn’t state there is an upcharge until I paid for the meal. When we received the sampler, chicken and turkey looked amd tasted good, however the brisket portion was laughable and about half of that laughable portion was pieces of pure fat, like inch wide. I am no pit master but when you trim the brisket properly, there should not be so much fat left when it renders. Either the brisket is not properly trimmed or City BBQ purposely keeps so much fat intentionally to increase profits. Fries were soggy too, pretty disappointed experience…

Most City BBQs I’ve been to are 5 star food wise and a solid 4 everywhere else, but this one in New Albany either doesn’t know how how to prepare their meats or they just don’t care.
We’ve ordered carry out from this location several times and it has never been good. The meet is always extremely dry and chewy. This last time, we got a couple of pounds of brisket and it was like eating extra dry beef jerky. There was no moisture in the meet and the bark was awful.
On previous orders, they have forgotten specific items and acted annoyed that I opened my bag to double check everything before I left. I’m glad I did, because almost half my order one time was not in the bag. It wasn’t like they had a second bag they forgot to give me, they just didn’t prepare it.
I will opt to get my BBQ from a different location from now on.

It’s always easy to tell when a restaurant gets a new cook or anything. Granted, it’s been a while since I’ve been there, and this time around, it was the Collard Greens. Even my friend said they were too damn salty, so salty, she couldn’t finish her portion. That said, we pitched the Collard Greens and just the Mac & Cheese.
If we had been in the restaurant, we would’ve returned the greens for a new batch.
I only eat City BBQ maybe twice a year, so I’m not worried about it. Hopefully it’s better next time.

My wife and I love City Barbeque! We currently don’t have one in our town, but we stop at one almost anytime we are out and see one. This time, I tried the “More Cowbell,” and it was fantastic. I added some of their “Swine Wine” to it, and it made it even better. The portions were great, and my side salad was very good as well. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich, a side of corn pudding, and a side of Mac n cheese that we shared. The food was amazing, and the staff were professional and very welcoming. This was one of the best locations that we have visited!

We love City BBQ! I have never had a bad meal or poor service experience. We visited once again this past weekend, sat at our usual table, and enjoyed our usual brisket sandwich, ribs and pulled pork. I love the mac and cheese and fries too, and the Original Sauce is my favorite.
The only time they ever messed up a takeout order was when they forgot to send the gallon of iced tea, but I called and they fixed it right away. See you again soon, City BBQ!
