We went to City Barbeque today and got The Motherload meal. It’s a $75 meal with 6 different meats and 6 sides. We got this to-go and once we got home we realized they forgot 2 of the 6 sides even though they were marked off the receipt as packed. This is unacceptable when paying $75 for a meal.
The turkey was fantastic, the sausage and brisket were both acceptable. The pulled pork was really good which is a must at these places. The ribs were a let down though, small amounts of meat and overdone. We also got fried pickles and they were very very soggy once we got home, basically a giant pile of mush and were very salty. Not really worth it.
Overall, for the money, this place was not really worth it.

Was my 1st time at a City BBQ & this place did NOT disappoint!! When I arrived there was a line but it moved fast. Food came to the table quickly & everything was delicious! Had the pulled pork sandwich & got to try some of the ribs while I was there – incredible & meat was falling off the bone! Will definitely be going back!

I stopped by the new City Barbeque location recently and left really impressed. From the moment you pull in, it’s already off to a good start—there’s plenty of parking, which sounds small but honestly makes dining out so much easier.
Inside, the space feels clean, bright, and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful when ordering. The service was quick but still felt attentive, which I appreciated.
As for the food, the portions were just right—not overwhelming, but definitely satisfying. I had the turkey and brisket. Yummm. The sides are nicely sized too, so you can actually try a couple without feeling like you’re ordering way too much food. I recommend the corn pudding and collards. Everything tasted very fresh, which stood out immediately. Side salad was great. The barbecue had that classic slow-smoked flavor without being drowned in heavy seasoning or overly salty rubs. You can actually taste the natural flavor of the meat and the smoke, which I loved.
The sides complemented the meats really well—fresh, flavorful, and not overly rich. It felt like a balanced meal rather than the kind of barbecue that leaves you feeling weighed down.
Overall, it’s a great addition to Rock Hill’s food scene. Between the friendly service, fresh ingredients, well-sized portions, and easy parking, it’s definitely somewhere I’d happily return to—especially when the craving for good barbecue hits.
If you’re nearby, it’s absolutely worth stopping in and trying for yourself.

Absolutely crushed it. Had no idea that I was a corn pudding fan until we tried in as a side. Great meats, and sauces of course.

I wish when you order the pulled chicken by the pound it came with notes that it included the white(mayo) sauce mixed in. I would have been able to request it to be left off if I had known.
Food is very good. All the staff I’ve interacted with have been friendly. The online order to drive through processed is a good system

This BBQ place understands its business. We went to the soft open (thinking they were open) and they served us anyway. And by served, I mean put together brisket that is unbeatable in RH and a variety of sides that are delicious. Then the desserts…One of our favorite items on the menu is the huge salad. Friendly staff made this an all-around around great experience. This place is THE place to eat BBQ in Rock Hill.

Had the 2 meat plate with pulled pork and pulled chicken with baked beans and okra. Meats were cooked really well and were not dry. Baked beans were a little sweet and tangy for me. Okra was fried perfectly. Got banana pudding for dessert which is definitely worth going back for. Staff was friendly and brought food to the table quickly.

First time diner at this location. New restaurant in Rock Hill area. Taking the order was quick for dine-in. Everyone was pleasant & professional. We sat outside and food was brought to our table. I had the two-meat option – brisket & pulled pork. Both were just ok. Brisket was on the fatty side. All sides were good: slaw, hush pups, fries, okra. I wanted to rate it 3.5, but giving them the benefit of the doubt since they just opened a few days ago. We will try it again in a few weeks. First impression is not as good as The Smoke Pit.
