Did a curbside pickup order, they brought out the wrong order first and didn’t even ask the name. Also the car on the other order was listed as a completely different color.
They came back out later and gave us our order but when we got home we found a side was completely missing. On top of that, I had requested an Italian dressing for the Cobb salad due to an allergy and they gave me the original ranch. There were a few tiny pieces of bacon and absolutely no egg in the salad either.

We got the incorrect and missing half of the order refunded.
Maybe dine in is better but after this I’m not even willing to try.

Got ribs and fried okra and had some brisket while waiting. Ribs and brisket had good flavor but dry. Okra was perfectly cooked. Being from Texans bbq is very different for me. Service was slow but friendly

I had a great meal at City Barbeque in Matthews and wanted to specifically recognize an employee named Lex (or Lexi). She absolutely deserves to be commended.
There were two women who came in with a really bad attitude and were being pretty loud and nasty toward the cashier, who was another young lady. Lex/Lexi came from behind the food prep area and stepped in so calmly and professionally. The way she communicated with them was impressive. She was kind, patient, confident, funny, and within minutes she completely shifted the atmosphere. What started as loud and uncomfortable turned into laughter and smiles. It was amazing to watch. You don’t see customer service like that very often. She handled it so well, andOn top of that, the food was great, the place is clean, comfortable, and attractive, and the employees are friendly and hardworking.

Just wanted to give credit where it’s due. Lex/Lexi really stood out.

What’s been going on with the food here lately? The hush puppies are completely different, less flavor, texture and cornbread color. The tenders too… definitely different. Lighter and has a different taste than before. Have they changed their food supplier or something?

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Kayla ( found out her name later). I had a courtesy card for some free brisket that I decided to redeem. Had the card for a few months actually, I forgot I had it. ( how/why I got it is a story for another time) Anyway I digress, Kayla assisted me with my order while I was ordering a team member ( found out later he was the manager) said hello to my grandson who was with and asked him if he’d like a cookie. Of course he said yes and thanked him. I was just glad there was 2 cookies soo he could share with his sister. I always appreciate the little extras it’s great customer service and creates fans. So when I want some good brisket I’ll come back to Galleria City Barbeque. Oh and while I was waiting for my food Kayla asked if I like chili I said I did she gave me a sample of the chili made worth brisket. It was good. What a great team at the Galleria City Barbecue location. Thanks

I had the pleasure of visiting City BBQ recently, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely delicious tender, smoky meats with the perfect amount of seasoning, and the sides were just as great. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I could tell they really take pride in their BBQ.
A big shout-out to Kayla, who helped me during my visit. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure I had everything I needed. She even gave me some great recommendations based on my preferences, which really made my meal even better. Her positive attitude and excellent service made the experience memorable, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

My wife placed an order through the City Barbeque website tonight for delivery. When our order arrived the pork we had ordered had been swapped for turkey and we were missing two sides. We tried to call the restaurant and were on hold for such a long time we decided to head that way to resolve the issue. We spoke with the manager Kendall and we were told that door dash driver called us and said we were ok with turkey since they were out of pork. While the driver did try to call we did not speak to them to change this order and weee still missing the sides. When we got there the gentleman behind the register acted as it it was our fault and not there’s which I understand to some extent but that should not be left to the driver as we ordered from the City Barbecue app. I finally asked for a full refund as they were out of most meats. I was told that they would refund the food but not the delivery fee or tip and we would have to to contact door dash for that refund. I explained to hat this would not be acceptable as we ordered everything from City Barbecue and they should process the full refund as THEY used door dash to deliver. The gentleman explained the same thing over again as if I was stupid and even made a comment that the customer behind me understood it why could I not. In frustration I agreed and had him process a refund at which time he charged me for the order again and then had to do a refund for two orders. Before leaving the parking lot my wife called door dash who stated they could not process the refund since the whole order was done through City Barbecue, so my wife walked in with her on the phone to explain to the employee they would have to process the refund and how to do it, so sadly in the end I was not wrong and treated in a very bad manner by someone who said he was a manger at the store. Horrible customer service from top to bottom and a great way to ruin the entire night. I hope you can do better by the next customer. In reading a few other reviews it seems like a standard experience with this manager and this should probably be addressed.

Decent staff. Decent sides. Sweet tea and lemonade not so good. The Corn Pudding is always good! Please stop giving people dried out Brisket! You shouldn’t punish your customers with dry brisket. This is the second time I’ve had to go back up to the counter and ask for new brisket. The place wasn’t really clean today. The sauces were empty and there were no forks at the counter near the sauces. It wasn’t crowded so I’m not sure what the problem was with the cleanliness. I’m sure you guys can get better because I’ve seen better at your location. Oh, and the banana pudding is always delicious.

Do not EVER rely on City Barbecue for an online order!

My recent experience with City Barbecue left me genuinely shocked. I placed an order for what was supposed to be a special New Year’s Eve dinner, only to find out that when we went to pick up the food at 7:45 pm, they had run out of food, and the manager, Kendall, could not have cared less.

I had an order number and confirmation text, and to quote the manager, Kendall, ‘Sorry for the inconvenience’. Really? That is the extent of your apology? It was much more than an ‘inconvenience’ to find out at 7:45 that we were not going to have any food for our guests.

When I asked why we weren’t notified earlier, Kendall blamed the online order system that he said didn’t work properly. That didn’t make sense because I ordered it from their website. When I said if they had notified us, we could have planned something else, he said they didn’t have time to look at the online orders, even though I placed the order TWO HOURS PREVIOUSLY.

So, if you plan on ordering from them, you now know they aren’t checking the orders, and if they run out, you won’t be notified.

Kendall did offer to substitute pulled chicken, but I would have to pay for it. It seems like some offer of a discount would have made sense. But in keeping with the entire experience he didn’t care enough to bother.

I was informed that David Steiger is the Regional Director. He should be aware of the customer service provided by his manager.

Don’t make the mistake I made and EVER rely on City Barbecue for an important occasion.

Unfortunately the ribs were inedible. Dry & hard like they were made days ago & reused. I had given 5 stars a yr ago. I probably won’t be back. There’s a smokehouse 4 blocks from me that I will try instead. I drove 30 min for this to not be able to eat it & spent close to $20. I will post the photo inc everything I had to spit out.
