Cute honky tonk. Trying to overlook the super slow service because we brought a large group in. But I don’t understand all the ratings saying the food is good. I ordered Don’s fish basket. They have a separate grilled fish plate so i assumed a fish “basket” is fried. Nope the fish was waaaaaayyy over salted grilled fish (tilapia is my guess) and the seasoning contained msg as my pounding head will tell u. Ordered sweet potato fries, got regular fries. Friend got BLT and chips were not served with it as stated on menu so she asked and we were told that was Betty’s menu and the new owner had not changed the menu. Perhaps that is what happened to my fish basket that now has grilled fish? They did bring the chips, but what a bizarre explanation like we know who Betty is. The others at the table had burgers that were not good. The whole experience with the food was yuck. Would return for a beer or a few rounds of pool as everyone was very nice and the place is interesting but never will eat there again.

I’m a truck driver and I’ve eaten in a lot of places this little joint here quiet and feels like home I call a spade a spade when I see one I tell you what I have no problem with biting my tongue in fact I did it when I was eating a good ole double meat cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and fried mushrooms.

Sorry to report that service was very poor. Almost a 2 hour wait for food since they didn’t aak for a name; though there are limited seating in immediate bar area. While we understand there may be issues at times; this wasn’t what we have experienced before. Hope they get it worked out.
If you’re looking for a great ‘hole in the wall’ place to either sit and have a few cold beers with the locals OR you’re looking for a great burger or Rueben sandwich, this is the place for you.
Wife and I stopped in for a late lunch and the Rueben was awesome! Of course I forgot to take a pic until half way thru. She had a cheeseburger that rated with the best of them.
Definitely a place to return

Ok. So this is a old style bar in a 100yr old building. Staff works hard and can be help up by the regulars. Been coming here for a month and a half and always had a good burger, onion rings, love the Ruben with Russian dressing. Now the other side has an old convenient store feel but it goes hand in hand. My only personal issue but I can live with it is that occasionally you get a customer that smokes. The air purifier might need a new filter but I just go and switch tables if possible. I love the ladies that work here. They make me feel welcomed and right at home. If going by stop in and take a trip in a real feeling place. Enjoy.

The wings slap, especially the teriyaki ones. Very tender. I liked the cheesy fries but I felt the portion was really small for the price ($10). I’ve also had the burgers, fried mushrooms, and normal fries here before and really liked them. Just wish they served a cocktail or two. The place is really fun when there’s karaoke night or a game going on.

Are you looking for a good country hole in the wall…well this is it. The staff (Dolly) is awesome and funny. Great service. Big, juicy hamburgers, made by Sissy. Beer is cold and cheap. Two pool tables, good ambiance, could use more consistent music. If you’re passing by Cistern TX, stop here, you won’t be disappointed!

Stopped in on my way from Baton Rouge back to Wimberley with my kids and had one of the best burgers ever. Now we stop every time on our way home. All the ladies in the bar and kitchen are so sweet. We just love this place!
