A restaurant with great food is how they say it on the board outside. A lovely Mexican lady came to serve us so I asked for a Heuvos Rancheros which wasn’t on the menu. Up it came, the eggs, rice, bean sauce and tacos.

Very small little hometown restaurant but they know how to cook! We have eaten here twice now, once for dinner and then breakfast. A little pricey but that is everywhere these days. The gravy here is not out of a can like many restaurants. It’s so good. The skillet I had was just huge.

Ambience / atmosphere is typical family style as the name suggests.
This is in a town of 850 people and they’ve got it going on with the food. The selections are extensive and I had 7 people in my group that ALL said the food was excellent.
Will be going back the next time I am in the area….for sure!

Wow, what a great little gem, tucked away in the middle of Illinois. Just in Rt 49 between Chicago and Champaign, this family owned diner features great food, fast and friendly service, just okay coffee, and a wonderful atmosphere. Great local flavor. Amazing short order chef in the back. This place is worth a short detour if you’re just passing through.
