This particular visit, however, was a positive experience, albeit different from my initial one. Upon my arrival, the greeter was located at the bar and appeared somewhat disengaged as she promptly directed me to my table.
Many establishments I frequent typically inquire about my seating preferences, particularly during off-peak hours. I did inquire about the possibility of selecting an alternative seating arrangement, and the representative provided a clear and helpful response.
I reviewed the concise menu and subsequently ordered the beef burrito and a beef quesadilla. My primary concern pertains to the remarkably swift delivery of these dishes from the kitchen. This raises a question regarding the possibility of pre-preparation rather than made-to-order cooking.
The meal was served at an appropriate temperature and was largely palatable. The beef offered a satisfactory flavor profile, though it did not represent the pinnacle of my culinary experiences. The chilled sour cream and guacamole provided an excellent counterpoint to the warm quesadilla.
Subsequently, my beef burrito was served. I had ordered it accompanied by charro beans and lime rice. The most unsatisfactory component of this dish was the rice. It lacked any discernible lime flavor, and indeed, possessed very little flavor overall. To my palate, it had a milky taste.
Our server demonstrated exceptional dedication by actively seeking solutions to my concern. The beans, notably, were outstanding and expertly seasoned. The beef burrito was both flavorful and generously filled with cheese.
I consumed their sweet tea. The tea presented a slight aftertaste, suggesting it may have been prepared in advance or in a container that retained residue from prior batches.
Overall, the experience was positive. I am awarding four stars primarily due to the exceptional service provided by my waitress, which is a rare find in the current service landscape. Regarding the cuisine, it was average at best, especially when considering the superior Mexican dining options available in the vicinity. I anticipate returning to this establishment in the future.
We were recommended to Cisco’s Salsa Company by a friend who absolutely loves the place, so I had high expectations going in. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t even come close to the praise we’d heard. I’m not sure if it was an off night or what, but from the moment we walked in, it felt like they just didn’t care we were there.
When the food arrived, it was cold, the rice was half-cooked, and the nachos were only warm—not exactly the kind of quality you expect. I asked for red salsa, and they brought back green, which wouldn’t have been a big deal if the rest of the meal had been more enjoyable.
When we mentioned the issues with the food, the staff didn’t seem particularly concerned, though they did offer to cook the food again and gave us a discount. At that point, though, we just didn’t want to wait any longer.
I really had high hopes for Cisco’s Salsa, especially after hearing all the glowing reviews, but honestly, this was one of the worst Mexican food experiences I’ve ever had. I’m not sure I’d return.
The restaurant itself is elevated, so the floor level patio was not ideal during the storm. The upper level patio was just right to storm watch, enjoy chips and salsa, and have a large Texas queso with Baja ground beef!
For during a storm the service was incredible! Always kept my Coke refilled. Fresh chips. Checked on us periodically. Even a hostess made sure that we weren’t parked in a flooding area. Wonderful service!
The food is good Tex-mex! The atmosphere is where Cisco’s really shines in my opinion. Small town feel, with a wonderful patio that had a one man guitar band live music.
Made for a great date night!
