The atmosphere is like grandma’s house after church. The smells are amazing before you even get to the counter to order. The hospitality of the workers is above and beyond. We felt very welcomed. Someone greeted us with a smile and made sure we were well taken care of. The food…..words can not express. The fish was cooked to perfection the greens , southern fried potatoes , and Mac n cheese WOW! With added tomatoes and onions and a roll. We will return and I definitely recommend you go if you love soul food. ❤️

Coworker of mine picked this up for us and I had it for the first time today. I was raised by a southern grandma who cooked this type of food every week. This is hands down the BEST fried chicken I’ve had in my 33 years of life. Collard greens were tender and seasoned well. Mac n cheese was creamy and still had a cheese pull even after a several minute drive after picking it up. Gravy on the mashed potatoes was perfectly seasoned. Peach cobbler for dessert just warmed me from the inside in the best way. This is a 20 out of 10, and I will absolutely get it again if I’m anywhere NEAR the area on a Sunday.

Had it for the first time yesterday. Servings were so generous I had plenty leftover and just ate it for an early dinner. Hubby and I ordered smothered chicken and I got the Mac and yams. He got green beans and greens. Everything was so good.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! This is EXACTLY what we were looking for AND some !! People flock here for good reason! Someone else picked up our catfish dinners and after they realized that, they remade our entire order so that everything was fresh and hot and they brought desserts and drinks for the inconvenience and STILL asked if there was anything else they could get the kids or us.. the owner came out to us him self. It really was a great experience and so family oriented. The customer service is some of the best weve ever had and we go alot of places from neighborhood grills to the most upscale steak houses in the city and this little humble place was one of the best yet!!!! I got the smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy and my boyfriend ordered the smothered chicken with greens and yams, the kids got the catfish and it was so good and I dont eat catfish at all. It wasnt fishy at all and it was crispy and fresh. We will most definitely return.. They are only open ON Sundays fyi. I’m sad that we can only go once a week .

Me and my fiance are from Cleveland and we came to Indianapolis to buy a car and found this gem of a restaurant and let me say this is some of the best soul food I have ever eaten period. We will definitely be back! It will be worth the almost 5 hour drive!!!

I heard about this place on Fox 59 when they announced them as Indy’s Best Soul Food restaurant. Today was my first time trying this place and food was NOT that good. I placed my order online, and they forgot my collard greens and had to go back and get them. The fish was lacking seasoning, the sweet potatoes had strings and can taste the crunch of the brown sugar, and the collard greens had NO flavor at all. I didn’t see any turkey meat in them. The only thing that tasted good was the dressing. I definitely will not be eating here again.

I absolutely love this place! I ordered a veggie plate and it was delicious. We were greeted by this sweet soul with a big smile. I didn’t catch her name but she made me feel like I was coming to a relatives house for dinner. The entire staff was friendly and we had everything we needed to pull over to a park and enjoy the food. Definitely will be returning.

First time trying this place and it was everything. We went 30 minutes before closing. Food was amazing, hot, and did I mention amazing. The yams put me in a food coma. The music and atmosphere was great. Sorry I didn’t get pics the food was to good to stop and take a photo!!!!! We will be back.
