I had such a great time visiting this spot in Bardstown! The atmosphere is absolutely incredible—it’s set in a beautiful historic building that just feels right for a whiskey tasting. You can really feel the history of the brand and the town while you’re inside.
Even though I didn’t buy a bottle today, I got to try the whiskey and it was phenomenal. Very smooth and high quality. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the guy working there (I didn’t catch his name, but he was great); he made the experience feel very welcoming and shared some awesome insights. If you’re in downtown Bardstown, you have to stop in just for the vibe alone!

Barbie, the appropriately named bartender is amazing. The cocktails are inventive and unique but most of all, this is not just a cheeky Distillery ripe for body-part jokes. They deserve a place on the podium with the greats of the Bourbon world for sure. The location is a gorgeous historic home and the gift shop is fun.

To be honest, we stopped here back in December on a whim, and yet here we are back with whiskey friends, introducing them for the first time of this amazing hidden gem. When in downtown Bardstown, you MUST visit.

Great tasting flight. Lots of options. Plan to come back next time I’m in the area. I really want to try the Old Fashioned flight. That looked delicious. We had the Exclusive whiskey flight and that was really good too. Water was readily available.

What a fantastic visit to Chicken Cock Whiskey! This intimate distillery operates out of a charming, smaller building that creates a cozy, personal atmosphere you won’t find at the larger production facilities. The highlight was definitely their core flight tasting – each pour showcased the quality and craftsmanship that goes into their whiskey. The flavors were well-balanced and distinctive, making for an excellent introduction to their lineup.
Our bartender truly made the experience special – knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the product. She guided us through each tasting with expertise and made us feel welcomed throughout our visit. For anyone exploring Bardstown’s bourbon trail, Chicken Cock offers a more intimate alternative to the larger distilleries. The combination of quality whiskey, personal service, and authentic atmosphere makes it a must-visit stop.

Barbie was our bartender and guide through the history of this distillery from the past to modern times. We came in planning to stay here for 30 minutes and wound up staying for three hours. She is awesome bartender and makes great craft cocktails. We will be back here next trip !! Thanks Barbie for a great experience

Chicken Cock is a nice spot with a stylish bar serving delicious cocktails and spirits. The bar itself is charmingly old fashioned in appearance, and the cocktail list is solid. I tried a tiki drink called the Runner that was very refreshing. The bartender was a friendly and a font of knowledge about the distillery and house. She introduced me to another table of several other patrons and went over the history of the brand with us. It was a great way to meet new people. I’d definitely recommend stopping by and enjoying some quality time here.

We had two favorite stops during our Kentucky weekend and Chicken Cock was one of them. We liked places that appealed to the non-bourbon drinker in our group and the cocktails were amazing. Paige was the best bartender and this is a spot I would revisit on another trip. I could have sat there all day.

Our bartender was Barbie. She was very entertaining, informative, and attentive. She explained how to properly taste the bourbon through great storytelling. She was extremely animated and sweet.
When I explained how I wanted to purchase bottle she let me taste a lot of different ones based off of what I liked and my price range. When I picked one out I liked, she went out of her way to go to the back and get my favorite number. Amazing experience and highly recommend for anyone visiting Bardstown, of even Kentucky in general.

This place was lovely. Barbie was a fantastic bartender. She explained the history of the brand with equal parts facts and humor. She is fun to talk to and her drinks (we ordered two of the cocktails) were delicious! Would have loved to stay longer (and work my way through the rest of drink menu) but had to get back on the road. I would definitely go back and highly recommend a visit.
