The food here was excellent! Full of flavor and clearly made with care. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and the mix of cultural cuisines worked perfectly together. Presentation was colorful and impressive, like something out of a restaurant magazine. Overall good vibes and great food. Definitely will be coming back soon.

Before I start I want to say today was their day 1, so bumps in road were/are expected. Unfortunately they were just too many issues that I do feel compelled to provide some feedback as my friends and I made the trek from Malden to Walpole to visit and support and were left a bit disappointed. In regards to my order, I was missing items I paid for (no red rice and beans that was part of the super bowl order, no cornbread side, no golden roots) and didn’t have communication about the missing items (sold out or someone forgot to add to bag?). After a two hour wait this was really frustrating and now I have to reach out to Toast to figure out how the refund process for the missing items work. My friends double checked their orders and caught their missing items but did notice one of the orders was missing the tassot from his surf and turf order but to be honest shouldn’t the orders be accurate upfront since the intake is via an online order form?
The next issue is the portion size. I think they may have run out of food or trying to manage the demand by the time they got to our orders. The super bowl option for example is suppose to serve 2 to 3 people but it appears I received partial portions in my containers (and didn’t receive the rice at all as mentioned above). For $65, even with the first day issues, this was really disappointing to say the least. By the time we got in and unpacked it all the portion disparity was clear with some of the other items we ordered.
For quality I think I may have just had a bad batch. My mac and cheese was burnt but my friend who ordered the same did not have that issue. Our spaghetti bowls were a bit bland which was a bummer and again, the containers seemed partially full. My friends did enjoy items from their orders but for me I think I just got a bit unlucky with my choices.
Then comes the pricing. Boston pricing in Walpole with the portions they are offering will probably have me skipping this option for the time being. For example I paid $20 for a small ribeye crunch bowl but essently received a bowl of rice. I can only judge based on comparisons to brick and mortar restaurants with similar food and just feel some of the options are a bit pricy for what is received.
Again this is only their first day so this review is not meant to be too harsh because I want to see restaurant options like this do well (and I am Caribbean so love having additional options for food). I think they will get their bearing as word of mouth spreads and they perfect their system for consistency and volume.
