From the street this looks a bit off putting, but don’t let that stop you. They are turning out some really tasty Mexican food. From the charred flank steak to the mole sauce, even the house salsas were wonderfully prepared. The locale has a lot of people mainly going to the discount tobacco shop nearby, but that just adds to the people watching. Recommended for sure.

Food and service are great. They are always attentive and check on you often. The shrimp and octopus ceviche is a great appetizer in my opinion. Then the cinco de Mayo plate is the perfect way to make your meal complete. They are efficient and the wait isn’t long for food. They will frequently check in on you and refill chips and salsa if needed. They keep us coming back for more.

Went for the first time. They had two salsas to try my son, who liked the mild while I really enjoyed the hot. Great start to the meal as we enjoyed the salsa. Our food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed what they got.

Update

On my most recent visit I decided to try the burrito meal and my wife got an enchilada meal.

My burrito was covered in enchilada sauce and left me a bit confused. What made it a burrito it looked just like my wife’s enchiladas.

Decided to get a sweet treat after a somewhat disappointing burrito. The small slice of cheese cake was heated for some reason. Very disappointing after my first experience I had high hopes.

I’ve only done take out here. The food is always fresh and delicious. They send chips and salsa with their orders which I love. We’ve had the Carne Asada and Chicken Enchiladas Suizas and all of the food was super yummy. The sides like beans and rice taste homemade which makes it even better. They are good portion meals and taste delicious. They put a lot of attention into packing their take out orders, everything was labeled and very well prepared. The take out order placing is seamless. I’ve ordered from here multiple times and I’ve never had issues with communication or the food.

Cinco De Mayo serves one of the best Camarones a la Diabla I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend trying this flavorful dish. The shrimp are perfectly cooked and coated in a rich, spicy sauce that packs just the right amount of heat.

After our church service, we often came to this restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal together. In addition to the Camarones a la Diabla, their tacos asada, flautas, and burritos are also exceptional, especially when paired with their perfectly seasoned black beans. The ingredients are always fresh, and each dish is crafted with authentic flavors that make every visit a memorable dining experience.

Great little Mexican place in a small town. Some friends that used to live in La Grande recommended it and we were glad we stopped while passing through. The service was good and pretty fast for a sit down place. I especially liked the huge bowl of tortilla soup. The presentation was beautiful and it hit the spot on a cold winter day.

First time eating at Cinco De Mayo but it won’t be the last! The service from the staff here was fantastic! This is a truly authentic Mexican restaurant with great traditional dishes. I ordered the Chile Relleno’s, and my fiance got the Chalupa Deluxe . The beans and Spanish rice were fantastic, as was my Chile Relleno. They were tasty and flavorful without being overly spicy as some restaurants like Fuego tend to over spice their food. I guess if you make the food super spicy so your customers can’t taste how bad their cooking is. Not to worry though, this place is great and won’t disappoint for the price. My only complaint was that there was no ground beef in the Chile Relleno that was listed on the menu. I found out from the waitress later on that you have to request it now when ordering it. Otherwise, you just get a cheese filled Cille Relleno. Despite the discrepancy, I would go back here any time for a meal!

Service was fast and nice, and the food was delicious! They also carry Pepsi products!

I ordered the 2 enchiladas with cheese, and for every piece, I had to twist the fork for a few seconds because it was so cheesy. The rice also had the perfect amount of cumin.

The tortilla chips had an old taste to them, but everything else outshone the negatives.
