Cinco de Mayo has that classic Mexican restaurant vibe from the outside—bright neon lights, bold colors, and those familiar (but not exactly comfortable) booths. The menu covers all the usual favorites, and I went with the chicken chimichangas, which were actually delicious and cooked well.
My wife ordered the taco salad, and that’s where things went downhill. The meat was overly greasy, the flavor was pretty bland, and the bottom of the tortilla bowl was falling apart from all the oil. Chips and salsa were your standard starter—nothing special but not bad.
Service was on the slow side, though it looked like only two people were handling the whole floor, so they were doing the best they could.
Overall, it’s worth trying for yourself, but I won’t be back anytime soon.

Visited Cinco de Mayo Bar and Restaurant for dinner and enjoyed a few highlights worth sharing. We started with drinks—a red sangria and a jalapeño margarita. Both were visually appealing and hit the mark on flavor. The sangria was fruity and refreshing, while the margarita had just the right kick without overpowering the drink.
For food, we ordered 12 chicken wings with fries and 4 birria tacos. The wings were hot, crispy, and well-coated in sauce, and the fries were cooked just right. The birria tacos were flavorful, served with consommé on the side, and loaded with tender meat, onion, and cilantro.
Service stood out—Kelly was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her energy added to the experience.
There are a couple of areas for improvement. The music was playing too low, which took away from the energy of the space. A bit more volume would help bring out the vibe the place is clearly going for. Also, the air vents looked overdue for a good cleaning, which was hard to miss when looking around.
That said, I see a lot of potential here and plan to come back earlier in the evening to get a feel for the place when it’s more active. I get that toward closing time, things start winding down. Looking forward to seeing how it feels at full swing.

I have not eaten from this restaurant in probably 10 years. Previously when I went, I only ordered the blue margarita because I was never impressed with the food. I remembered not liking the rice and overall thinking I like other Mexican options in the area. I thought I would give it another try and I ordered through uber eats. This was a mistake and I will not waste my money here again.
I ordered the queso con carne dip appetizer. There was no flavor to it at all. It was a decent size portion, but it was extremely bland. I ordered the Chori Pollo meal. The chicken and chorizo had a good flavor, but the rice it was served with was tasteless. I added black pepper and sour cream to the rice to try and give it some flavor and it was awful still. The portion of this meal was smaller than what I get at Fiesta Tapatia, right next door. It was served with pico de gallo, sour cream and lettuce. These were very minimal and it was not served with tortillas which is unusual in my opinion.
I took pics, see below, of the good size portions and each item. They gave me 3 small bags of chips with my order, which is a lot, but the chips were nothing to brag about. The best tasting item was the salsa served with the chips.
I would not recommend anyone to spend their money here. Fiesta Tapatia is so much better. Bigger portions, better taste, better quality, authentic Mexican rice, etc. I will not be giving this restaurant another try. I tried to be hopeful and it was a mistake. I plan on throwing most of the food away due to lack of flavor and I hate wasting food.

The flautas were very good and crispy. The pico and lettuce on the side complimented the food really well. However, upon presenting my check, the waitress returned so quickly I didn’t even have a chance to get some money out of my pocket! Give us a minute please!

Very few meat tacos. Not everything like onion tomatoe cilantro. Tasty steak plain. Not worthy “happy hour”.

Visited here for the second time and most food ordered was very good, there were a few exceptions though. The quesadilla was dry and the chicken lacked some flavor, the queso was very runny but had a good flavor. Overall the food has a good taste but did lack some of the Mexican food bold flavor and spice. The dining area is a decent size and has a great atmosphere, staff was very friendly and attentive.

I do like this place but the food is not the best mexican food. I feel like it is very heavy on salt. The tacos looked great but it was okay. My bowl wasnt too bad but the mixture of meat and rice and sauce, it was a lot but the combination of flavors wasn’t my favorite. I need to come back an try this place but for this time I wasn’t quite impressed.

I order Grub Hub and have been in for take out. Each time I get the same thing which is Chicken Nachos with no Jalapeños. Each time my order is different. They are NEVER consistent on making their order of how the menu describes the item. There is no cheese sauce on this and no pico either. I feel the prices are reasonable but quality control needs to be better to ensure that the orders are correct and how the menu describes the item. Sometimes it is perfect but most of the time very inconsistent. Very disappointing considering there are very few reasonable restaurants in the spring mills area. I added my photo and as you can see no Pico, no cheese sauce, barely any sour cream. Very light handed on the chicken too. Ridiculous!!

We visited for the first time today and sat on the small patio. The waitress was super attentive, even dealing with a pretty drunk couple effectively and professionally.
I got the chorizo pollo and my sister got steak fajitas. Both needed a bit of salt, but cooked so well (fajita vegetables still had crunch)
We tried 3 deserts. The churros are amazing. The flan was way overdone and more like a pie, but the flavor was spot on. The sopapilla was really just a cinnamon sugar tortilla.

So im a truck driver me and my wife travel the road together been doing it for years now we work flatbed and if you know what a otr flatbed driver does we get pretty dirty and we work hard so this was our first time stopping in martinsburg ever we just worked all morning and wanted some tacos so we dropped off our load and decided to try (Cinco de Mayo mexican restaurant and bar ) on 06/25/24 we thought it was going to be a new experience and good one i was completely mistakenly wrong let me tell you what we ordered we got there so called ( cheese dip which was $5.99) and it’s literally the size of the sauce cups which they also charged for just to get sauce for your tacos you have to pay for it like seriously? So my wife ordered pollo asado tacos which were $18.99 and literally had no meat on the taco like im not lying it literally had a spoon scoop of chicken for 3 tacos and the corn taco was so soggy she just put the meat in the bowl where they give you the lightest toppings for your tacos and just basically made a bowl out of that now let me get to my order i ordered the $19.99 mix n match trio tacos i got the shrimp tacos which had 3 pieces of shrimp on it i was so mad and agian people we placed our order inside the place we dindt doordash it we did pickup then i ordered a ground beef taco it literally tasted like taco bell meat im not lying and it was less of a scoop then taco bell would give you i was even madder about that now for my 3rd taco i ordered a chicken taco it like chinese food chicken with no seasoning or anything the chicken was white i now dont even think it was fully cooked and for it to look the way it looked they literally gave a small scoop of that too so then to finalize my order i asked for salsa verda and there spicy red sauce both were terribly nasty and came up to $4.00 for 2 sauces in total we spent $54.00 and my stomach hasnt felt the same since you guys should be disgraced to call yourselves a Mexican restaurant taco bell taste better then this and im talking about the worst taco bell at that and on top of that to have the name conco de mayo as the restaurant name is a tad bit racist to your on kind im a minority and ive never been more disappointed in food in my life.
Thats my review on Cinco de mayo mexican restaurant and bar.
