Cash only. Nice atmosphere in historic building. Good service. Spaghetti and meatballs was huge plate of spaghetti and 3 meatballs + 2 pieces of garlic bread. Sauce was good, but for $15 in a small town, I don’t want to pay $5 for a salad or $8 for garlic bread.

A little “Italian” restaurant in downtown Wellman. The service was great. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs.
It’s not that the food was bad. It just wasn’t good for a restaurant. The noodles were fine. The sauce lacked in flavor. The meatballs tasted powdery. Not a good texture. Taste was sub-par.
My daughter has made better at home.
Please, if you want to have a restaurant and call it Italian, make food that people rave about. Better recipes? Better ingredients?

The Food was a bit pricey but good. The atmosphere is just ok. The owner Randy plays favorites with his staff members and is sometimes flat out rude to some of the young girls that work there in the kitchen.

To think I have been many states New York to California but to find the BEST spaghetti and meatballs were in the little hamlet of Wellman, Iowa a town of 1000 people !!! I feel so lucky to find this hidden gem !! The garlic bread was unique but excellent … Do yourself a favor and head to Cilino’s Italian restaurant in Wellman, Iowa !!! We just got done eating here and I have to say it’s a gem in hiding. Everyone in my group had the Lazonya which was made by the owners Mother and it was supperb. I on the other hand had the steak that ranks in my top 3 steaks I have ever had.
The staff were very nice and helpfull. Cilino’s is a 10 out of 10 in my book I’m glad we found this place to eat next time I will have to try the icecream.
