If you’re a fan of El Palomar in Santa Cruz, you’ll definitely want to check out Cilantros in Watsonville! They serve up the most amazing chicken fajitas, and you can’t go wrong with their delicious chips and salsa. Don’t miss out on the steak and combo fajitas either—the flavorful broth they’re cooked in is absolutely irresistible. If you haven’t tried these dishes yet, make sure to experience them!

Ive come here with a large group multiple times now and it has been amazing every single time. There is a nice bar, and a nice table area. Cool art is up and its very clean. Great food, great service, and consistent in there quality. Out of all the times we’ve been now and all the different people, not a single one of us had a single complaint.

Delicious food! Our family is a big fan and we have really enjoyed all dishes we’ve tried. Very tasty, well seasoned and the facilities were recently renovated making it inviting and classy. We will definitely come back!

My siblings were craving a mimosa to go with Mexican food, Cilantros popped up in our search. We ordered fajitas, chile relleno, shrimp enchiladas, chicken with mole sauce, chile verde, and sopes. While we waited, we had chips and salsa, the chips were addictingly warm. Everything was tasty, service was nice. Flan was great, not too sweet and nice consistency.

Cilantro was a nice surprise. Unique flavored foods that are a little different than what you would usually get at a Mexican restaurant, !and I liked it. The server was great, and the atmosphere seemed upscale casual. Prices were average. I’ll be back

Very disappointed. Went for lunch and was surprised by the extremely high price on tacos, which were $7 each…

Normally, I don’t even entertain places that charge this much for tacos, but I happen to be in the area….

I had three tacos (beef, shredded beef, and grilled chicken), and a spicy margarita.

The tacos had almost no flavor whatsoever, they were very juicy, but seriously lacked any unique taste. I was expecting the best tacos in California for this price. I honestly would not pay more than $2 for these tacos because they were very boring.

The table came with chips and salsa, the salsa was very watery and also lacked flavor. Same with the margarita, the spicy margarita was small, overpriced, and was not spicy at all.

The environment was very corporate, it was busy, lots of customers. But I will definitely not be going back!

I was feeling seafood + Mexican so hubby and I tried another new (to us) restaurant in Watsonville: Cilantro’s. It was great!

The restaurant looked updated, it was clean, and modern. We sat at the bar and got great service. The bartender put the Giants game on for us.

The salsa was good, the guacamole was chunky (just how I like it), and the chips were warm and slightly puffy.

We got my newest obsession: the Coctel de Mariscos (octopus and shrimp served in a chilled tomato broth with diced avocado, cucumber, green onion, and cilantro). It was yummy. It was fresh tasting and loaded with avocado. Everything, from the refried beans to the rice, tasted homemade. My Happy Hour strawberry margarita was only $10! Highly recommend the Cantarito (Reposado, Squirt, lime, OJ, grapefruit juice, and chamoy).

I also got a bean and cheese burrito. It’s my latest thing: order the bean and cheese. Then you get to really taste the quality of the flour tortilla. How creamy are the beans? Are they seasoned well? Is the cheese melted or not (I like it when it’s super cheesy mixed with little chunks of unmelted cheese). Cilantro’s had a solid bean and cheese burrito for $10.

Time of visit: early October 2024

Had a sit-down meal here with my colleagues during our stay in the area. The patio was empty at the time so we decided to have the meal there. Decent Californian-Mexican food, at least for untrained palates like us.

The tomato salsa and chip starter was a nice opener, followed by our dishes of choice. Portion of the enchiladas, sope, or rice dishes were either big or huge, with clearly fresh ingredients of the vegetables (in particular, seriously it’s hard to mess with veggies and fruits from the area) and meat. That alone can justify the pretty steep price of the meal. The service could have some room of improvements, some dishes took long time to arrive.
