We went there for a romantic dinner! Place is cute and the service was great. We ordered calamari for appetizers with some wine to drink and it was amazing together.
We ordered Ravioli and waguy steak and food was okay. Over all we enjoyed the experience.

Ciccio Trattoria is a cute little spot with a charming atmosphere and outdoor dining. The interior is beautifully done, highlighted by a really cool bar that makes it a great place to grab a drink. The menu is simple and not overly complicated, and I actually appreciated that they don’t bring bread to the table so you can focus on the dishes you came for.

That said, there were a few misses. The menu had some misspellings, which I hoped wouldn’t reflect the quality of the food—but unfortunately, the dishes themselves were just okay. The short ribs had some flavor but were a bit rubbery, but the gnocchi was flavorful. The cioppino (note 2 p’s) lacked depth, with a watery broth. I was tempted to try their steak, though the spelling of “waguy” instead of “wagyu” gave me pause.

On the upside, the drinks at the bar are excellent and worth coming back for. I’d skip the wine list, as it didn’t feel particularly special. Another drawback is the dessert situation there’s no menu, so the server has to recite the options. It works fine if you don’t mind listening, but for those who like to read or visualize their choices, it can be a letdown.

Overall, Ciccio Trattoria is a cute place with great drinks and a lovely ambiance, but the food left me wishing for a little more.

This place oozes old world charm; from the chandeliers, and the bistro style wicker chairs, to the respectfully gaudy silverware, Ciccio Trattoria dazzles the eyes even before the tongue has a chance to dine! My wife and I tried 4 appetizers; focaccia, olives, polenta, calamari, and the steak skewers! The polenta was mild, and crispy, with a dense, rich mushroom sauce to contrast. The focaccia was pillowy and moist, with a hint of rosemary, and the olive oil and balsamic glaze to dip it in was insanely good, for something so simple! The calamari was crunchy and flavorful, my only complaint is the dipping sauce came in a shallow container, so it got a little cold pretty rapidly, caveat — we were sitting outside in November, soooo the olives were bright and tangy, we used them as a palet cleanser in between all the delicious food we were trying! Last, but certainly not least, were the steak skewers! The presentation was beautiful; they gave us a little salt to sprinkle on them, and some toasted bread and lemon, but the real star was the marscapone sauce; I would inject that into my veins, it was an umami overload in the best way We tried the crème brûlée with blackberries and a berry puree for dessert. It was tart, crystalline, creamy, and more than a little sweet; the perfect cap to an incredible dinner!

Vitto(?) was our waiter, his suggestions were on point, and his attentiveness left us feeling special and eager to return! Big shout out to Andressa; she helped me ensure the end of the night was smooth, she’s a rockstar! Everyone we interacted with was absolutely lovely, we cannot wait to get another opportunity to dine with you all, thank you so much!

I celebrated my Birthday here. We all had never been there and just loved those bling bling chandeliers! It made it feel extra special. Our Server even surprised me with birthday delicious cannelloni! The food was really filling. You can see in the photos the serving sizes. It’s a really good menu selection. It was a Monday evening and the place was packed so I’d definitely recommend reservations.

Great little trattoria in McKinney. It’s in a shopping strip obviously but the interior is fantasticly decorated. Very sophisticated and clean. The service is also very very good. Attentive waitstaff who knew exactly when to arrive for everything. The focaccia appetizer is so good and only $6. The salted ricotta and the olive oil were amazing. The brunch menu had some nice breakfasty items like frittatas, but I ordered the carbonara it was made perfectly. So creamy and with real guanciale. Lots of great looking stuff on the menu. Lots of reasons to return!

If you’re looking for amazing Italian food in McKinney, Chicho’s is hands down our favorite spot. From the moment you walk in, the service makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always on top of everything without being overwhelming.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting — it feels like a place where you can relax, enjoy great company, and take your time. Yes, it can get a little loud when the restaurant is full, but honestly, that just shows how loved it is. The lively energy has never stopped us from coming back.

And most importantly — the food! We’ve been there several times and have tried almost every dish on the menu. Every single time, there are absolutely no regrets. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can truly taste the quality in every bite.

We keep going back, and we’ll continue to do so. If you haven’t tried Chicho’s yet, you’re missing out!

Well crafted menu and unique taste, especially for an Italian restaurant in the suburbs. We really enjoyed all of the food and the effort behind each dish. Servers need to be trained to provide the type of food it is being served. Our server worked hard, but just not taught to provide the vibe that matches the carefully curated menu. They were running out of plates and silverware, which we should have never had found out ;-). Nice decor throughout. It is a gem in the area. Outdoor area is a nice place to be. Need some music out there though. Halloween spirit is fun/appreciated but prob not super fitting (esp random costumes) for the fine food perception / vibe of the eatery.

Visited a second time today. Again, the servers’ were average and not matching up the food quality. Some of the things he was saying were questionable, borderline rude. I think if the upgrade the wait staff, play music during all service and add a little more details here and there, they can really knock it out of the park.
