I stopped in to deliver their packages (UPS driver) and on my way out the owner asked if I would like a sandwich/sub. I said sure and thanked him for his kindness. I knew they had just opened recently and I had been wanting to try it. I ordered a turkey and cheese and everything is made the way you want from the cheese, toppings, seasoning and the size of the sub. It was one of the best subs I’ve ever had. The bread tasted homemade and the turkey was plentiful. I will definitely be going back. I already told multiple other drivers about this place.

Everything about our experience was disappointing. We were the only customers when we ordered, yet it still took about 15 minutes for two sandwiches to be made. No one greeted us, and the interaction at the register was unfriendly. We placed our order and essentially left it on the counter for someone to eventually prepare.
There were two employees working out front, and while we waited, several more staff members came out, yet service never improved. The food was just as underwhelming. The macaroni salad had virtually no flavor, and the Cuban sandwich had almost no filling—mostly bread with very little substance.
I understand this is a new business, but if you’re going to open a deli, the basics matter: service, quality, and consistency. Unfortunately, this place missed the mark on all three. Save yourself the disappointment and skip it.

Cicchelli’s Hoagies & Italian Market in Hagerstown, MD is a promising new player in the Hagerstown Hoagie game. The restaurant itself has seating for dining in but is geared more towards take out. The restaurant is family owned so give them time to develop their flow. Patrons fill out a paper form to order food. The staff did not use the form and regularly asked customers what kind of toppings they wanted on their hoagies. Being their opening day, I have full confidence that they will improve their process. The food is excellent. The names of the hoagies are cute but not functional when trying to order on the form. You will need to reference the menu and then fill out the form. Give them time, this place has potential to be great.

The amount of people who want to rip a business for slow service in their first week open make me want to scream. Wish we could reply to Google reviews.
Have been three times and they’ve gotten more efficient each time.
This is the type of small business Hagerstown needs and should be glad that they have.
The meatball sub is excellent, the Cicchelli Hoagie is also great. We also grabbed some grab and go pasta for dinner. Best Stuffed Shell I’ve had in a long time. Everything is homemade and fresh.
Friendly service from a family owned and operated business. SMH to those who need to pan a new business….

My brother and sister in law picked up dinner last night … out of this world “delicious” and the owners could not be nicer plus they are originally from New Jersey home to the “HOAGIE” and great Italian cuisine … I lived there for 74 years prior to moving to Hagerstown. They had the lasagna, about 6-8 layers thick, not overly scuffed with gooey cheese and meet, but like what Mom made 60 years ago and marina sauce to die for, they upgraded their salad to include meat and the dipping sauce was fantastic. I had the ceasar salad as had already had dinner and didn’t know they were stopping there, the ceasar dressing was some of the best I’ve had With being less than a mile from my house, homemade, friendly owners and great service I think “know” I’ve found a real go to favorite and this was their grand opening week, plus should mention more than reasonably priced, plenty of free parking, you have to check them out, seating for maybe 20 people, grab and go options and in store Italian market … have to see if they know about “Boost” a NJ staple non carbonated beverage …

We tried Cicchelli’s on a Saturday afternoon – we ordered the Dominic and the Tommaso.
Right away, the ordering process felt confusing. The sandwich form was simple but inefficient, and there wasn’t a clear flow for where to go or what to do after filling out the form, which made the experience feel a bit disorganized.
As for the food, the meat quality on the Dominic was very good and generously portioned! However, the Tommaso completely lacked flavor overall — there was barely a drizzle of balsamic and nothing to bring it all together – ultimately it totally fell flat.
The most disappointing part for both of us was the bread. When it comes to a hoagie, the bread can truly make or break it, and in this case, it totally broke the experience for us. It didn’t resemble authentic NJ-style hoagie bread as advertised and tasted overly processed, more like a mass-produced hamburger bun, which really impacted both sandwiches.
We’ll admit we may be a bit biased — my husband is a New Yorker and we’re used to excellent hoagies — so we were hoping for more. We understand they’ve just opened and hope to see improvements as they settle in.

The people leaving 1 star reviews need to calm down. A new business needs time to catch their stride, especially when it comes to high traffic hours. This place has been open for a week. Not sure if we met the manager or owner, but she was very friendly and passionate about the business. The sandwiches used quality cold cuts that were very generously stacked for the same price point as places that barely give you enough meat to cover the bread. We bought dessert, but our sandwiches were so filling we had to take them home. Glad to see a solid sandwich place in Hagerstown, we will be back.

The food was amazing everything tasted very fresh, I got 2 sub combos (drinks and sides) and 2 cookies which was around 30 dollars which in my opinion is reasonable. I know this is newly opened restaurant/deli ive worked in newly opened restaurant and established ones so I understand the difficulties of learning to operate. My suggestions are the food took a little too long in my opinion to get out which again I understand they just opened, the ordering was a little confusing at first but figured it out eventually. They should have you pay for your food before going to the next person so when your food is ready they can just hand it to you instead of having to go back and pay. We wasn’t greeted when we walked in but everyone seemed really nice! The restaurant is a little quiet it could use some good background music. Also need a sign outside! Im really happy to have a good sub place on this side of town and really hope they take the suggestions and Flourish this place has so much potential!!!

I recently visited Cicchelli’s Hoagies & Italian Market and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
First, the wait was excessively long. I stood there for about 15 minutes holding my drinks and chips, waiting for our subs to be made. It felt like we were forgotten in the hustle and bustle.
Additionally, I noticed that the sub makers were touching their faces while wearing gloved hands, which raised some serious hygiene concerns. It’s disheartening to see such practices in a food establishment.
Lastly, the market section was underwhelming. I was expecting a variety of Italian goods, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. I hope they can improve their service in the future.

My girlfriend and I ordered the Cichelli and the owners informed us that they had run out of all the necessary meats. They improvised and made it as close as possible with the other meats available and told us that our lunch was on them. What we did have was fantastic, very fresh, clean, and delicious. We will absolutely be back!
