Some nights out should take their time. Some should take you back in time. At Cicada, you’ll remove yourself from the 21st century for a night of timeless tunes of days gone by in the Art Deco splendor of the 1928 Oviatt Building. Our historic landmark venue is a hot spot for vintage dining, dancing, and filming. Its authentic Golden Age ambiance sweeps our guests away with a classically jovial spirit. It’s a place of style, celebration, and romance, where anyone can dance to the best bands in the nation. A special place that leaves time behind.

Italian fare gets a Californian twist at this glamorous, art deco supper club with big-band nights.

Delicious food! Showtime started at 8:30 on a Saturday night. I liked that we had our reserved table for the night and weren’t rushed to get the next party in. The waitress even offered to spread out our courses throughout the night which was much appreciated. 5/5 would make the drive back for this experience again!

I live less than a block away from Cicada and tonight as I was walking towards another restaurant I walked by Cicada. I wasn’t dressed for the occasion, but I asked anyway if I could have dinner and they were super nice. They let me in and I was transported to 1920s. I was speechless, everyone inside was super super dressed up, women wearing their beautiful dress, gentlemen wearing a suit, the music, the singers… I can’t describe how I felt this place. I had dinner by myself, I enjoyed the music, the vibe, but overall how they can transport back in time. Thank you for such a beautiful experience!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I’ll be back!!

Absolutely stunning place. Came here for my birthday for drinks and dancing. Be aware they charge a $25 cover fee per person even if you’re not having dinner. The live music is such a vibe and dancing here is so much fun. Just be prepared to spend some money if you’re staying for drinks as they are not cheap. The whole place feels like you’ve been transported back in time and it’s amazing that everyone dresses to the nines. Would love to come back and have dinner here sometime

My mother and step dad brought us here as a special treat. It’s one of thier favorite places in LA and we had never been. We very much enjoyed how special the building was and the attempt to keep it and the music true to its original era. The food was good, but the service could have been better. Our waiter definitely had his favorite tables, and it showed.

We went here to celebrate a birthday and it was awesome! Service was great, atmosphere was great, the drinks were great, and the band was Amazing!

The only thing that wasn’t on par with everything else was the good we ordered. We had the steak and the salmon, not the best, in my opinion. However, the stuffed shrimp and the Tuna Tartar was really good, while the Tiramisu was Excellent and so were the drinks (had to mention drinks again because the bar tender was making them perfectly). I need to learn ballroom dancing and come back here again so we can take full advantage of the atmosphere and ambience.

One certainly can feel being transported into speakeasy times of the 20th century. Great ambiance, food, and entertainment. Looking forward to many returns.

Located in a historic town brimming with tales of the past, this wonderful restaurant offers a blend of elegance and entertainment. The outdoor ambiance is enchanting, with a welcoming employee greeting you at the entrance. Upon arrival, a fee of around $30 grants access to the live performance, setting the stage for an evening to remember.

The restaurant itself is a sight to behold, with cleanliness and sophistication evident in every corner. The upstairs bar boasts a balcony view that adds a touch of charm to the experience. While the drinks are of good quality, the prices may raise eyebrows, with each beverage costing approximately $20. However, a silver lining is the dinner special which features a 3-course meal starting around $89 per person, offering a decent value for the delectable cuisine on offer.

The true highlight of the evening was the live performance by Tinos Production showcasing exceptional musical talent that captivated the audience. This performance alone made the visit worthwhile, leaving a lasting impression of their artistry.

Despite the enchanting experience, the steep prices may deter frequent visits. Additionally, the unexpected gratuity percentage added to the bill, i believe not disclosed in the menu or website, left a slight disappointment. This practice may fall under the new SB478 regulations aiming for transparency in pricing.

For convenience, valet parking services are available in front of the building, albeit likely incurring an additional charge. While this restaurant offers a unique and memorable experience, the overall cost may limit return visits for some patrons. This is my personal opinion and recommend anyone to visit this place them self’s.

This is an amazing place…especially if you are a fan of big band music and art deco. There is also a rich history in that it was, at one time, the location of a popular emporium for men’s fashion. However, the food is nothing special. They also still charge you an entrance fee even if you have dinner there…which can cost a pretty penny.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday on Saturday, Dec 20 at the Cicada, this was our first time in this restaurant/lounge. We loved it, everyone was very nice and attentive, the service was amazing. We had the opportunity to have Lupe as our attendant, and she was very attentive and prompt with our meal and drinks. I highly recommend this place, the live band was great and the dancing supper.
Highly recommended.

Such a wonderful time here. It carries a 1920’s elegance and magic that’s not found anywhere else in LA.
