I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The food was okay, mediocre at best but the atmosphere made up for it. We came on a Friday evening and there were no seats inside so we were seated outside. Server had to be reminded multiple times to bring enough table settings for our party of 4. I am not sure why they thought our 4 year old wouldn’t need a plate or utensils. Easily remedied.
As for the food. We ordered:
Roasted Zucchini Flowers – I am always excited to see this on the menu but was disappointed to get what was a very bready deep fried dough. It tasted alright, a bit on the salty side and essentially was a carb. Would not recommend if you were expecting lightly battered zucchini flowers.
Spinach Ravioli – This was good. Flavorful and the sauce was plentiful.
Italian Sausage Mushroom – Okay pizza for what it was. We ended up taking most of this home as the bread was thick which made it very filling.

We are always excited to try new restaurants during Restaurant Week. While we had been to CIBO Rustico a while ago, it felt like the right time to try again. Fortunately I had the foresight to make a reservation since the place was PACKED with happy people enjoying food & each other. Always a good sign! Anyway, we ordered the restaurant week special and a nice bottle of Carol Shelton Zinfandel. Our first course was a generous arugula salad. However, it was dressed(?) with a generous helping of warm prosciutto and balsamic dressing topped with with shaved parmigiano reggiano. Outstanding and we had to take some home. The next course was spinach ravioli in cream sauce. Again, very generous and outstanding! And again leftovers! Finally, pork spareribs braised in the house made red sauce. Each serving was two ribs but plenty after the previous abundance. Unfortunately there were none of those left over but the amount was perfect. The sauce had just a little bit of an edge and the ribs were fall off the bone perfect. The Shelton Zin made a great complement to this meal. We had sort of forgotten about CIBO in our rotation but, after that meal, it had to go back to the top of the lineup. Thanks guys!

Went there for a restaurant week this week and had the set menu which was absolutely fabulous and a huge meal for $40. Was very impressed with the salmon dish…..the salmon was not undercooked and it was cooked to perfection! Extremely delicious food, great customer service…..not to mention the ambience is very nice.

Had a very pleasant dining experience, went for lunch and sat outside on a beautiful day. Ordered the bruschetta and artichoke fritelle for appetizers, both were superb. The tomatoes in the bruschetta were juicy and delicious. The fritelle had great flavor, they came with a dipping sauce that honestly wasn’t even necessary because they were so good on their own. Main course was the Francesca pizza. The Buffalo mozzarella was easily distinguishable and tasty, there may have been a little too much arugula but it wasn’t a problem. Will definitely eat here again, love the ambiance, food and location.

Service was terrible. 1 person got there food 30 min & another 15 before the rest of the table. Wait staff gave people the wrong plates. One of the people got something they didn’t order but didn’t want to wait for what he ordered. Bread sticks came out with the dinner instead of with the appetizers. Cheese didn’t even cover the whole top of the pizza. Sauce was bulk metallic can sauce not marinara. Gnocchi was store bought pre-made. It was super salty and you get 12-15 balls for $18. Mushy & smells, tastes terrible. The place wasn’t even packed. No excuse for the awful service. I have no clue why this place has such good reviews. We had a party of 6 so 20% tip was included. Normally I might even tip more than 20% but I don’t think I would have left anything. Waitress never checked to see how the food was.
We had one order to go and they charged us for it and didn’t make it. Then they tied to tell us that they didn’t charge for it. We said that’s fine but we want the food someone is waiting for the food. Upon looking at the bill it was on there. All in all the the whole night was 3.5 hours of frustration with subpar food.

I thought this was good but not great. Nice old-school homey atmosphere. I dined on a Friday night, and they were very busy and very understaffed. The two servers looked they they were 14 or 15. I pointed to something on the menu and asked her what that was, and she looked me in the eye and said “honestly, I have no idea.” My pizza was good but I thought that the crust was a little gummy in the middle, for my taste. I did like my zin– good wine, heavy pour, great value. Not a Sonoma County dining experience, just a pretty good local spot.

I guess if you want real pizza, need to go to Italy.
Recently had a pizza with basil, cheese and meatballs. The meat was tasteless as well as the sauce, certainly not Martzanos. Over all no seasoning. I have eaten Italian food from Rome to New a York to California. If this was made with love as my Nonna would say it will be delicious. This seems thrown together with little care.
Sauce is critical and many pizza joints overlook that.
Basically tasteless. I usually don’t give a negative review but I was hoping.

Bruschetta was a joke; chopped tomatoes on a slightly toasted slice of bread. No salt, pepper, or any spices; no basil even though it is mentioned on the menu in the ingredients. Bread is soggy . Star pizza is opposite to what rustic pizza is. Dough and Italian sausage tastes like taken straight from Dominos; ketchup in place of tomato sauce. Left half of the pizza unfinished. The staff looks stoned. It is hard to believe it is the highest rated pizza place in town.

Great food and great host! They gave me a sample of white wine and it instantly made me feel good. Their Pinot noir was great. We had meat penne pasta, meat balls, veggies and star pizza. Every single food was great. Pizza dough was so delicious! I’m glad we stopped by here! Oh I should mention about the surprises for the kiddos! Thank you!
