!! Finally got to try this Italian-Japanese fusion spot and it did not disappoint. Huge shoutout to our amazing server, Nevaeh she gave the best recommendations and made the whole experience even better. Everything we tried was delicious, but my absolute favorites were the gamberi and burrata sushi, tokyo caesar, uni tagliatelle and the focacciapan (so good). Also, chef Marco you can truly taste the intention and care in every dish. The flavors were brought to life beautifully. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu.

Fantastic addition to Union Square dining ! I went to Modi a few months ago and the same owners with an Italian Japanese fusion concept. Dan was my server and friendly and suggested a few items on the menu. The foccaciapan w truffle honey butter was a nice starter. I had the gamberi sushi and the portions were perfect. Dessert was two scoops of gelato. Definitely want to come back for the pasta and steak. Suggest bringing a friend or two to try more items.

We had dinner for 4 and tried many different dishes family style. Most of the food was delicious yet in some dishes the fusion did not work for us. Presentation is amazing and drinks were well mixed. Definitely a place to come back to.

I’m not sure why one needs to drown a Caesar salad in 50% sauce but doesn’t make for a good first impression. The food was decent but not super memorable from a fusion perspective or just taste and execution. Maybe an off night for kitchen?

But the service was absolutely incredible and the vibe and ambience behind. Special thank you to Ramon for being top tier with service and will definitely be back a night when I am having a cocktail.

Overall, decent and 4 stars.

Ciao-Origato is an Italian–Japanese fusion restaurant (in case the name didn’t give it away! ).

Let me start with the service, because it truly stood out. We had an amazing server who went above and beyond and brought such great energy to our table. She definitely elevated the whole experience to another level!

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I wish I had taken more photos, but I only managed to get a video, we were too busy enjoying our group and all the dishes we ordered.

We basically ordered two of every appetizer, and I had the steak that’s meant to serve 2–3 people.

I highly recommend CiaOrigato!

I love both Italian and Japanese food, so I was super excited to try this Italian-Japanese fusion place! Distinct from Japanese-Italian cuisine, which is Japan’s take on Italian food, this is more of an Italian take on Japanese cuisine, plus Italian food with Japanese influences and ingredients. We came with a large group, so we got to try a variety of dishes from their extensive menu! My personal favorites were the pastas (clam/miso and uni/mushroom) and the okonomiyaki pizza (imo better than the og Japanese okonomiyaki)!! I was also a fan of how crunchy the tempura was, and how they incorporated that same crunchiness to their maki rolls and the crudo. Focacciapan was also great with the combination of truffle butter + honey. Don’t miss out on the duck prosciutto in the itameshi tagliere either! The presentation of that and the fire show for the florentine steak were

Gianluca was our fun, lively, and attentive server, explaining the whole menu and experience at the start and then making sure we were enjoying our food and drinks throughout. The owner is also the mastermind behind Modi, an Italian-Mexican restaurant I’ve been eyeing, so hoping to try that one out soon!

Came here with a group of friends and loved the experience! Was initially skeptical about the Japanese/Italian fusion but the flavors of the dishes blew me away – from the crudo to the skewers, from the uni pasta to the okonomiyaki pizza, every dish was delicious! The star of the night was definitely the florentine steak which was a show stopper! And don’t forget to end off with one of the sumptuous desserts, and order a beautifully crafted cocktail to pair with all the food!

Dan served us delicious food! A sublime fusion which work your taste buds! I know Italian food well, because I lived in Rome plus I lived 18 years in Asia! We tried 6 dishes and one after the other was delicious. I will be back! The photo represents a half eaten portion.
