I came here after hearing great things from a friend, so I was really excited to try it. I arrived around 6:30 PM. I really liked that they offered unique flavors, and I was excited in trying the bánh mì pizza. The service was ok the guy in the front looked stressed and was told by him the wait would be about 45 minutes to an hour, which I understood and was willing to wait. However, after waiting about an hour, I noticed they had stopped taking orders and were closing the kitchen early even though their posted closing time is 9 PM. When my pizza was finally ready, it was very burnt. After waiting so long and being extremely hungry, this was very disappointing. The pizza tasted burnt, and because they had already stopped taking orders due to being backed up, I wasn’t able to get a replacement.
I understand that busy nights can happen, but the long wait combined with the quality of the food made this a frustrating experience. I was really looking forward to trying this place, so I left feeling disappointed

As a former employee, this is tough to write. Pizza used to be delicious, quick, and with a smile. The new crew doesn’t appear to have any hustle and the last 3 times we’ve been in, we’ve received extremely burnt pizza after waiting 60-90 mins. Pizza tonight was the size of a child’s order and was again quite crispy on the crust. Was told the wait was about 25 mins and waited an hour. Management are good people but the crew desperately needs re-training. I don’t really care to spend money here anymore which is deeply disappointing.

Great outdoor seating area. Love that it has a treats place next door with gluten free and vegan options even gelato. Gluten free crust tastes good. Not sure if it was cauliflower based.

Dropped in after work, I tried something from each shop there. Had the pizza of the week, Sweet Venom Pork. This might be my favorite pizza combination of all time, even the crust was perfect, I was hooked at one bite. Hopefully it’ll live on in Oro Valley. I didn’t take pictures of the pie because I drank while waiting for it and when I smelled it, I practically dove on it. Not a slice made it home lmao.

Decided to drop in for a pie since I’d been craving pizza for weeks. Hand tossed, fresh ingredients, not skimpy on toppings in the least. The guy handling my order was super positive (and he was right, it was in fact the best pie I’ve had in recent memory), and although I just got takeout to go, he handled the lady and her daughter that came in behind me really well too.
Will definitely come back the next time I need my pizza fix; I want to try all of the specialty varieties at some point. It’s not the fanciest place in the world (thus my 4 stars), I mean, it’s in a strip mall next to a First Watch, but it’s well kept and gets the job done.

Honestly absolutely delicious. Great to share a pie while visiting the bar next door. The guys making the za where nice enough and happily answered my quieries about the menu. Any pizza is a personal pizza if you believe in yourself.
This is sort of takeout only, but the bar is right there as well as some tables right in front that are shared I believe. These also might be for Ciao.

Next to Tucson Hop Shop. Staff went above and beyond. Very kind people. Best price on quality pizza in Tucson. Not greasy. Good ingrediants. We had a veggie with sausage and a Snakebite pizza. The crust is very good.

I’ll admit that this little area is cool, great vibes. But wow. Took forever to get below average, burnt, dissatisfying pizza. Staff seemed lost. I’ve been in Tucson the last 20 years and I’ve had some bad pizza, but trust me this was ridiculous. I’d also like to mention Treat. The little “bakery” that seems to be owned by Ciao Down. What is the point of this place Doesn’t seem to get much business— I wonder why. I could make better desserts at home…. Touching all sorts of surfaces before grabbing an old stale cookie with the same dirty glove. Great. Lesson learned.

Silly Great Pizza.
We’re from Oregon, and Tucson has the best Food Scene!
Ciao Down is a new favorite for us.
Great people, even when when busy. Accurate estimates for finished pies. Treat yourself.
Amazing environment. A must to try!

I want to start by saying how impressed I am by the staff’s ability to remain calm and kind during an unrelenting, high volume service. They kept it together and didn’t let the quality of the pizza or service suffer because of how busy they were, and I respect the hell out of that.
They make neo-Neapolitan style pies, ranging from creative to classic standbys. They even give you the ability to build your own pie. The crust is pillowy, with great chew, structure and gorgeous leoparding. The toppings are high quality, well seasoned, evenly distributed and complement each other well. I will say, don’t sleep on the olives, they have a nice spice to them and even though served chilled still have great texture and flavor.
Definitely come prepared to stand in line, which is a small price to pay for great pie. The wait is more than bearable especially considering they are directly across from one of Tucson’s best tap and bottle shops. Grab a beer, relax and prepare for a wonderful meal made by incredibly talented and sweet people.
