I feel cheated. CarneAsada had a good flavor, but little of it.   Maybe it was my mistake to assume all Chuy’s were the same. We ate at the one on El Cajon Blvd a couple of times and the portions were HUGE. (see first picture) What we received at the one on Washington Ave (second picture after eating what was there) was a small styrofoam box with little meat.  At the El Cajon blvd shop, their portion would fill at LEAST two of these styrofoam boxes.  For the same price I definitely will not go back to washington ave  and stick to the one on El Cajon Blvd.

This little hole in the wall (literally) has it’s own commitment on making delicious authentic homemade Mexican food. The combination of the cheese they use with their birria wrapped in a very tasty tortilla is very delicious for the little price they charge. Nopales really takes the cake majority of Mexican eatery don’t even carry nopales. Not much of an atmosphere combined with no where to sit and dangerously hot makes it uncomfortable to enjoy the food in house. And going home to eat it was not an option (cold food sucks)

This place is tiny and has very little seating. But the food is AMAZING!!! and the prices are extremely reasonable. I bought 2 cane asada tacos and they were by far the best I ever had! The ingredients were very fresh and the carne asada was served hot. My friend got a torta and she said it was excellent. The staff was friendly and efficient. If you want sit down dining, go elsewhere. If you want something quick, hot, and absolutely delicious, this is the place!

The tortilla of the burrito is good definitely a flour tortilla. The burrito is got was called EL CAJON I dont really recommend it its tastes like its missing something to the burritos just to runy with the meat sauce then beans then nopales plus theres more tortilla then actual stuff in the burrito. I dislike when you have more bits of tortilla then meat when you start bitting into it just get smaller tortillas if you dont plan on stuffing the burritos right. The burrito needed rice id say maybe.

Very delicious spot for authentic Mexican foods! We went there for breakfast. I ordered a breakfast burrito and my husband ordered a birria quesadilla. Both are very delicious. I loved my burrito very much, the egg are smooth and flavorful. My husband loved his quesadilla as well. The shop is very small so I recommend you do take out and eat at somewhere else.

My first visit, I had the Surf and Turf burrito. They use different ingredients than I’m used to, but I though it was good nonetheless. Red sauce was flavorful, green sauce was not as much. No room to sit and eat comfortably. As I walked out, I saw them preparing their Flautas….I think for this I will return.

Came back for Taco Tuesday…adobada, carnitas, cabeza, pork belly. All were delicious, pork belly had a sauce on there that was also different than anything I’m used to, but nothing went to waste…so far everything has been good.

Can’t miss with chewy’s taco shop?My favorite place in el cajon to go to for taco shops. You get your Bang for your buck. Your you’ll definitely have leftovers. As the servings are large portions.

Chuy’s is a small Mexican restaurant with very limited seating for a quick bite. It was clean and brightly lit inside, very contemporary. One of the ceiling lights glares off the menu though, so the menu either needs to be tilted or that light does.

Service was quick and the food came out within 10 minutes which is great when your lunch time is limited.

I had the Hash Brown Breakfast Burrito and it was good, albeit a little unevenly distributed (which seems like a universal thing with burritos; find yourself someone who does distribute the fillings of a burrito evenly and you make sure you never, ever, let them go). Had the green salsa and it was good; it had good amount of acidicness to balance the salt and fat of the burrito.

Good place for lunch and a little more affordable than a lot of other places. I’ll be back to try the fish burrito some other time.
