The issue was plain and simple. We ordered to-go and specified double rice on one of our entrees. Instead I got rice and beans. We live 25 minutes from this location so it’s not worth it to drive back to get the order corrected. This isn’t the first time this has happened but this is the first time I am posting a review. Not sure how hard it is to verify that the order matches the ticket before handing the order to the customer. I contacted Chuy’s corporate about this repeat issue and they said the manager would reach out to me shortly. It’s been 8 days and I have not received any contact from the manager. Do yourself a favor and if you order take out from this location, do the work of the Chuy’s employees and verify your order is correct before driving off. Maybe ask for a discount since you’re partially doing their job.
The food itself was good though (minus the beans).
About seven minutes later, our server appeared to take drink orders. My friend asked for a margarita on the rocks. Simple, right? Apparently not. The server brought our sodas, then asked again if the margarita should be blended or on the rocks. My friend, now Margarita Mozart, said on the rocks again. So what arrives? A blended margarita. Sigh. He kindly asked for it to be remade, and from there, our server seemed to go into stealth mode—slow service, long delays, and nearly no follow-up. I get it, it was Mother’s Day, but we didn’t ask for a magic trick. We just wanted tacos and a timely check-in.
Speaking of food… meh. The rice was bland, like it had trust issues with seasoning. The beans were just there, vibing. The meat was decent, but not enough to save the meal. It’s Tex-Mex, so I wasn’t expecting culinary fireworks, but this was more like a soggy sparkler.
The location is great, but between the sluggish service and forgettable food, I’ll be celebrating my next birthday literally anywhere else. Even a gas station taco stand might have more flavor and probably faster service.
This experience was especially frustrating because we’ve always enjoyed coming to this location and have never had an issue before. Unfortunately, after waiting so long without acknowledgment, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere.
Hoping this was just an off day, but it definitely wasn’t the experience we’ve come to expect.
He has rekindle 5 star services that the rest of the Chuy’s around Texas can’t provide. Mr. David (I.T. profession side hustle) is an excellent example of what it is to provide top quality service! I truly hope Mr. David gets the opportunity to run and open his very own Chuy’s restaurant to represent & provide what high caliber SERVICE is made of. Halleluyah Mr. David.. Best of the BEST! He also introduced me the BEST TX MARTINI cazadores EVVVVVER!!
