Our waitress was a bit … Well I don’t think working with people in that fast of paced job is her strength.
The bowl of salsa for the free snack before dinner….was out of date. It looked foamy, smelled and tasted sour.
We informed her of this, that she might want to tell the manager, and all we got was a blank stare and she asked if we wanted another bowl of it??!!
That’s why I gave the food a 4 star. Everything else was great.

I’ll be clear, I’m rating this restaurant purely on service.
I ordered a meal over the phone, a simple steak burrito with chips and dip on the side. I was told 20 minute wait. I showed up and was kindly greeted. I told them the name on the order, they said “that should be out soon.” I asked “Can I pay now?” The young girl said “you’ll have to pay with the To-Go people when the food comes out.” Another customer told me she had placed an order nearly 2 hours earlier and was still waiting 15 or so extra minutes. About 30 additional minutes later I asked what was taking so long for my order, she said “let me see.” When she returned she asked me if there was another name on the order because she doesn’t see the order they never confirmed with me in the kitchen. I said “No. Can I give you my phone number?” As I’m asking after having been waiting about an hour total, the other woman with a cane (who didn’t say a single word to me the entire time) told the younger girl to “seat the party of 10.” The conversation ended there, no resolution or attempt to clear up the confusion. I walked out…pretty annoyed. The worst part is the food might be great, and I will never know cause I won’t be going back.
Moral of the story, don’t order over the phone

For some strange reason, I have been fighting going to this restaurant.. so specific reason, just something inside me told me I wouldn’t like the place or the food.
Mind you, I have been to Albuquerque many a time and absolutely LOVE the food and have always wished I could find a place here that had the same.
What a mistake in not adventuring to Chewys… I love this place!
First off, the staff was super helpful in guiding me through the menu. Secondly, I could not decide that sauce would match the one I loved so much in NM…. so I ordered all 9 of them 😉
I could go one but really it would be all about me and my personal preference… let me just say, if you like the type of food that comes from the NM area, and those that know… know you cant get it anywhere else..
This place will take you there 🙂

Waiter (don’t recall his name, but he had a lot of tattoos and his Dad is a snake supplier to major Pet stores) was great!! Friendly and fast.
Food was cooked perfectly and as usually really good. Try the Hatch Chili sauce.

Got hooked on Chuy’s when we lived in between San Antonio & Austin. So we hit one any chance we get. we arrived just before the Friday night rush. Bartender was very attentive, food was wonderful & it was an overall wonderful experience!

I had a good time having dinner at this restaurant. The place was nice, clean and easy to park. No waits which is a plus. Food was flavorful and margaritas were delicious! Our waiter was a little bit rude so I’d recommend more training for them. Other than that, great place to grab a bite of Mexico!

Everything was great until the surprise up charge for sour cream. There menu does not state that there is an up charge for it. And when brought up the the waitress she said “it’s my job to upcharge” and acted as if we should

When we first moved to Dayton, we enjoyed going to Chuys for a delicious Tex Mex meal with suprisingly good service. We hadn’t been back in a while, but ordered pick-up today. We were frustrated to have a meal missed in our order. We called to report the error, and the manager was very apologetic and accommodating. They more than made up for the missed meal with extra sauces, chips, two tres leches cake, and the missed meal. Mistakes happen and it’s no big deal, but their response to the situation was very impressive and we would be happy to return for their excellent food and great service.
