Reviews
A very tasty, well cooked and well presented meal.
What I liked :
Tasty and flavoursome food
Homemade accompaniments to the poppadoms
Extensive menu
Friendly and accomodating service
What I didn’t like (as much) :
The decor looked tired ( the paint was peeling on the outside windows)
The toilets need a refurb
Overall :
Still a great place and my personal recommendation to the owner is refurb the decor, toilets and over all ambience. Of course, I will visit again.
My Lamb Jalfrezi that I had was perfect, especially the fall apart meat and just the right amount of chillies.
I will be returning!
Food : 2.5/5 (Satisfactory)
Overall : 2/5
DO NOT visit this place if you have self-esteem. The manager on the day of our dine-in was absolutely rude, arrogant and condescending.
First of all, wrong orders were given to us, which we returned. After we completed the food, the bill was totally wrong and inflated as they still use manually handwritten bills without any description/breakdown of items. Thankfully, we had noted and so protested the wrong bill and they changed it. The manager was very condescending and started to pontificate that we must order everything at one go and must not order things separately, which was tad insensitive.
Food was decent – nothing very special or great. The Bhindi Bhaja (fried okra) seemed to be a scam at the very least. They just served us some boiled okra which was dripping in tonnes of oil and barely had any taste. The only saving grace was Chicken Jalfrezi which was satisfactory.
Would definitely NOT recommend.
We had Gosht Biriyani, Jaal Machi, Korai Chicken and Tandoori Roti.
As my smile says, the food was amazing, the service was prompt and we enjoyed our evening thoroughly.
Must visit place for those who would like to have authentic Indian cuisine.
The food here is freshly prepared. This means waiting times is a little longer for each dish ( between starters and mains) of around 15 minutes which although is longer than other locations.. It’s totally respectable based on the fact that food Is made fresh.
I orderd lamb Sommosas, Lamb koria, and sag Aloo. My nan had orderd the same but she had keema rice where as I had plain. Would highly recommend all of the above. The keema rice was very flavourful and I found it to be more enjoyable and flavourful than the mixed beryani I have had previously here. All the food was packed with flavour and was very fresh and the meat was soft and tender.
The plates are given to you hot which means your food is kept warm throughout our meal which Is wonderful.
The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed with a warm a heart filled service. I believe it is a family run business and you can really sense thier pashion for good Ashain food.
I like there to be sweet elements on my plate so I find that asking for some green chutney to accompany the curry can really bring the whole dish together.
Price wise your can expect to pay around £20+ per head.
The only downside is I find the chairs to be a little uncomfortable but other than that this is for sure a new family favourite. The only thing I would say service wise was that the customer service on the phone was very poor. When calling to make a reservation they put the phone down on me mid sentence. When I called straight back they said they couldn’t understand me. It would have been nice for them to state that instead of just hanging up the phone with no warning.
