We went to Chutney Masala for dinner recently and it was absolutely delicious. We went a little overboard and ordered 4 appetizers and 2 entrees and everything was delicious.

The restaurant itself is very nice. I will say, they didn’t have the lights dim at all, so it was quite bright in there, which kind of took away from the date night ambience of it. That being said, they clearly do a lot of take out orders and that might be part of why they have the lights up brighter.

The staff was friendly enough. This is definitely a place where they are not trying to get done and out the door quickly. If you are on a time crunch, either choose somewhere else or let them know in advance. They encourage ordering the courses one at a time (ie they’ll come back for your order for mains) and they do not hover at all. There is overall a lack of attentiveness, but it really has more to do with them leaving you to enjoy your meal than not wanting to help.

We got the avocado paapdi chat. I have never had anything like this at an Indian restaurant. It was incredibly refreshing, which was surprising because Indian food tends to be heavier and more hearty. Absolutely recommend. We also go the tikki trio, the paneer Kati rolls (my favorite appetizer we got), and the lamb samosas. The lamb samosas were the only thing that didn’t absolutely blow us away. They were perfectly nice, but the other dishes were awesome.

We then got the Dal Tadka and the chicken saagwala and some garlic naan. The dal was great. Had almost of a stew/soup consistency, but I could have eaten it for days (and then I used the leftovers for a kind of indian/lentil shakshuka, so I was super happy to have leftovers). The chicken was perfectly cooked. Super tender and juicy and the saag was so smooth and flavorful.

Overall, would absolutely come back. The prices are also incredibly reasonable. Definitely worth a visit

The food here is exceptional! The balance of spices, textures, authentic flavors — truly the best Indian food I’ve had outside my grandma’s kitchen. Chef Navjot is so kind and attentive. The staff are hospitable and always make sure we’re taken care of. Highly recommend!!

We love Chutney Masala – head and shoulders above any other Indian cuisine in the area! Everything is fresh, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The staff is super, the decor is sophisticated and spacious. Don’t miss the appetizers and breads – everything is absolutely delicious

Perfectly serviceable. I’d never be excited to go here but I’d generally be willing to, and I’d be happy to go with others.

The best part was the Naan, for me. Fresh bread with whatever oil/butter they put on it is one of life’s simpler pleasures, but no less effective.

I’ve gotten lamb both times I went, and both times it was a little bit chewy; never anything inedible but both times enough to detract a bit. The sauces each time have been nice enough, but neither has wowed me. Unless you order something explicitly spicy, don’t expect spice. If this is a pro or a con depends on your preference, but I personally wished there was a bit more heat.

Overall, a very solid place to eat, but not a place I’d make a mental note to come back to.

Maybe it of the time of day but the food was disappointing. There was a little pool of oil on top of the Chef Cream Chicken dish. Service was meh with the exception of one person (with the ponytail) whose service was really good. Asked if I could get a margarita as a mocktail -when the menu says “Mocktail of your choice”- and was told no, with no other option offered. The actual Spicy Guava Margarita was good.

We absolutely love chutney masala! Their food is consistently fantastic and tastes just as good, if not better, than our favorite Indian restaurants in NYC. We’re gluten free and we love eating the missi roti (made with chickpea flour). So delicious!

I ate here a couple nights ago for Diwali, and wanted to leave a review because my experience was lovely. To start off, the hostess greeted us and immediately sat us. She also ended up taking our order since the other waiters were busy. We bothered her with many questions about the different dishes which she happily answered! The food then came quickly and it was DELICIOUS. The service was great, they gave us complimentary dessert for Diwali, and they thanked us profusely when leaving. I liked the atmosphere and overall, highly recommend the restaurant!
