I live up in Shelbyville Indiana and I needed to drive down to Cincinnati to go to jungle Jim’s in Fairfield and along the way I had to use the restroom so I stopped off here in Batesville because I saw there was a churches chicken and I have never had churches so upon pulling into the lot the lot looks pretty good and then going inside the atmosphere felt kind of cold and dead and then going into the restroom. Everything looked all right, but the floor was sticky and so then I go to the counter and that I was quickly greeted and I told the guy take your time cause I’ve never been here before, and didn’t know what was on the menu, and after finally figuring out my order, I found out that while I was ordering, it was just him as the manager and one cook because the two other people who were supposed to show up for their shifts walked down on him 15 minutes before their shift and from being a former supervisor for a full service sit down restaurant inside of an amusement park myself I can tell that he was under a lot of dress and he had excellent customer service skills, but he was a little bit snappy with the one cook so I ordered my meal. He gives me my meal. I’m bringing it out to the car which I got the six dollar deal that which has three pieces of tenders two regular classic sides and a biscuit and a jalapeño. I told him I didn’t want the jalapeños so he took the jalapeño off and I ordered the spicy rice and the coleslaw and I had the chicken as spicy. I haven’t tried the butter biscuit yet I took some bites of the rice and it was really good and then I hit the coleslaw and it was like the best coleslaw I had ever had so I ate that completely immediately and I ended up tearing off about half of one piece of the chicken just so that way I could get something in my system and the chicken is really good. The spice level is a little bit higher than what I’m used to so it’s a little hot for me but for others it’d probably be perfect and so based upon that ranking, I gave this place of four based on food circumstances and atmosphere I would highly recommend once they manage to get more people but until then, if you come, please give the manager who’s running the register a little Leadway because I know personally how much he’s freaking out right now but overall, it’s really good.

The place was empty. The workers seemed more interested in talking than taking our order. The tenders we ordered weren’t cooked well, white looking and barely warm. The fries were good. The floors were very dirty. We were very disappointed in our chicken.

We just finished eating at Church’s and had a wonderful experience. The food tastes great, the staff were very nice, and everything came out as fast as we would have expected. We will absolutely be heading there again!

Will not go to churches ever again! First it took 10 minutes for our order to be taken when no one was in front of me in line. Then our order was taken and it took forever to get the food. Was told to not do 2 separate transactions and instead come in next time. Had to go back through the line because there were no straws or forks in the bag and watched the manager throw a handful of spoons on the ground because the plastic was melted together. The food was not as pictured. I got a chicken sandwich that was terrible. My chicken came out pink and the biscuits were harder than rocks. I then called to tell them about my order and received an abundance of attitude from the manger saying the chicken was cooked and he wouldn’t take my word for it. I replied “good customer service” and hung up. He then tried to call back twice to which I didn’t answer. If I could give zero stars I definitely would!

This spot had a rough go when they first opened. They’ve been getting better as more time passes imo. My last few visits have been very good and had no issues. Spicy chicken and mashed potatoes are very good. The biscuits are probably our favorite around!

Food is super bland. Biscuits are to hard to eat. The Mac and cheese was good. Really good service. It was my first time trying church’s and personally I don’t like the chicken. Needs more spices.

It was only 5:30, but they seemed ready to close up. The food was all precooked and waiting on the warmer. The cashier could not operate the cash register and the person that came to help wasn’t much better. They didn’t bother to explain that since things we ordered didn’t come as combos even though we asked for the combos, and they completely missed one meal we ordered. That’s 4 people, with no other customers, that couldn’t get an order straight. Food was old and flavorless.

From the experience of living near Batesville and driving here everyday for work I used to go to Taco Bell/KFC that’s what was here before churches chicken and they have the same exact problem as every other fast food place has had, they can’t seem to either keep enough staff or no one applies for this job at this certain location started to think this exact location itself is cursed or something Everytime a business opens here they all shut down for the same exact reason lack of staff. I went here once after they opened and was highly disappointed to find out my cashier was also my cook so each order was taking 20 mins or longer cause it couldn’t be made till he took it so then the person behind u would have to wait till he took your order cooked and cashed it out, I feel bad for whoever owns this property I would get rid of it!

Had high hopes for this new addition to Batesville. The employees were amazing. The chicken however, had extra grease in the bottom of the carryout box when I arrived home. Mac and cheese had no discernible noodles. Sadly I won’t be visiting them again.
