My family was in Carlsbad to go to the Caverns. We needed lunch and had no idea where to eat. We stumbled up on Church Street. The food was so yummy and the girl that took our order was so nice! We had no idea what Richard Fries were, so we had to try them. No regrets! The price was a little more than we had anticipated, but the food was great!

This rating would be significantly higher if it were purely based on the food. The employees were very helpful as we ordered as it was our first time there. It did take 15+ mins to get 2 hamburgers. If it’s good and fresh, that’s fine I can wait. The problem was mine came out wrong. It had guacamole on it. I went up and stood at the window waiting for someone to help me. The girl finally opened the window and simply said “what’s wrong with it?” I told her I didn’t order guacamole on my burger. She seemed confused, as if she didn’t believe me. Then yelled back to the kitchen blaming the cook. The cook blamed her for putting it in wrong. They went back and looked and decided the cook was wrong. Then she asked me “do you want us to make you a new one?” Well yeah, I don’t eat guacamole, otherwise I’d eat it and keep my mouth shut. So I waited for my new burger. I got one “sorry”. The whole process was pretty unprofessional. Maybe offer something to show you care other than ASKING if I want it to be made the way I ordered it. Then, to top it all off, my drink was 90% ice, 10% pop. (See attached picture) The food, when brought out correctly, was awesome. Toasted buns, great burger and tasty bacon. This is the most I’ve ever complained on here, that’s how upset I was with the service. Had the service been good, it’s 4* all the way.

It’s a wonderful small spot in a small town. All American food. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and the smothered burrito both were fantastic. Burrito was big enough to feed a family of 4, slightly spicy and tons of cheese. They also gave me a wonderful treat after seeing my dog. The young man working there gave my dog some bacon with my order. I was pleasantly surprised with this place.

So I decided to give this restaurant a try again yesterday and ordered the Richard fries with meat. I ordered through DoorDash to my work. It was delicious……… but by the time I got home that night my stomach was hurting by the next day I was sick. . Stomach pains and nausea. Pretty sure I got food poisoning. Had to miss work and everything. Won’t order food there again . But my drink was fantastic!
