Really craving some BBQ. Gave this place a try. Husband got the BBQ crunch wrap with pork belly. Had maybe 3 pieces of pork belly and over whelming amount of Mac and cheese and meat had a weird taste like metallic. Son got a half pound of burnt ends and a Brisket Sandwich. Half pound of burnt ends had maybe 5 pieces in all for $18. All sandwiches were supposed to come with soda and a side. Got charged for all sodas and no sides offered. I think it was over priced for the amount of meat given.

Highly recommend the brisket sandwich. Very tasty and nice size. We we enjoyed our beer and they brought it right to our table. Great service, great food and great price .

This is one of the better bbq places I have been to. The brisket was moist and very well seasoned. They didn’t scrimp on the rub.
The ribs were fall apart tender. Again they aren’t shy to season something. I was a little surprised they used spare ribs instead of baby backs but they were good.
The sausages were awesome. Good snap to the casing and you could tell by the density of the meat no filler.
A hidden gem right there in Canby.
Make sure you stop in

On our recent visit to Canby, Church of Smoke was one of the cart options at the Canby Beer Library complex. It was right up there with Matt’s BBQ Tacos in Portland for providing what are generally considered fast food menu items, but created with care and made with high quality ingredients.
I had a crunch wrap, filled with brisket and mac&cheese, drizzled with just enough BBQ sauce to make it sing. My wife went with an item from the specials board – a Brisket Trim Burger, which could be the model for a no-frills burger experience. Just meat and cheese on a wonderful bun – made with skill. I’d hope that Church of Smoke stays busy enough that they always have enough trim pieces to keep this burger available.
The cart is parked in a row, alongside the heated outdoor covered seating area, and just steps away from the Beer Library’s indoor space. We sat indoors, and there was no problem with our pager straying too far afield.

$18 for two slices of dry brisket. The food truck pod is cool. Try one of the other carts.

Great food. Poor service. We ordered a pound of brisket. When I picked it up they provided one small container of BBQ sauce. I told the girl it was not enough and politely asked for more. She said it would be $0.50 each for more sauce – company policy. I didn’t argue with her but I wished I hadn’t left a 20% tip when I made the order.

A year later and they are still smoking good.
They introduced burnt ends and they are the best I’ve had–more tender than Matt’s!! You can’t get better praise than that.

Wow! Best BBQ in the area, by far. In fact, in the greater Portland area, only Matt’s is better… Which is the highest praise I could ever give. I didn’t think anyone up here besides Matt could get BBQ this tender and flavorful, but Church of Smoke is delivering EXCELLENT meats. I tried the brisket, ribs, and cheddar sausage, along with Mac and corn. The mac was gooey and smokey. The corn, sadly, was a fail (it tasted like bad breath). Hopefully, we got a bad batch.

I’m SO HAPPY they are in Canby!!
We really needed more good quality food — you won’t find better meat in 20 miles, I promise you. (I’m sorry, Markum Inn.)

I’ll be back soon and often.

Wow . Incredible BBQ, we got the loaded potatoe with brisket , the burnt ends , side of Mac , and a Brisket Philly.

My girlfriend and I really are at a loss of words for the quality and love in this food . If you want some great food check them out . The portions are perfect and the ratios of ingredients is top notch . We will be back .

Best brisket I’ve ever had. My husband and I love this place. Location, food, price, and quality are amazing! I’m currently pregnant and my husband and I have now come here 3 times in the last month and is our new favorite date night location! Some day will also take advantage of the brewery as well, as it’s atmosphere is also very welcoming and warm 10/10
