Exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere is amazing! Our waitress was Madison and talk about detail oriented. She truly made our first visit spectacular! She asked if we have any allergies, which as someone with allergies that was very appreciated. We got the meatballs appetizer, so tender and flavorful! The salad was so good and fresh too. Main courses were, the diane steak (two steak medallions…incredibly tender), ravioli with chicken added, everything was top notch! We finished off with the buttermilk cake and it was sweet and fresh. Such a great experience, we cant wait to go back!

Had an wonderful first visit to Church and Union Charleston. Came here for brunch with our young family. Very accommodating for families and we had a lovely large booth in the corner to keep all the children corralled. I made a note in the reservation which they were able to accommodate this request. Lovely

The service was wonderful, the food was well portioned, and fresh and very tasteful. We’d rather enjoy our experience and we’ll be glad to be back.

As a sidenote, they offer a 25% discount for military. This is very gracious and much appreciated for those who have served our great country.

This place is very unique. My boss and I went there for dinner and obviously it’s inside of a church. The artwork on the ceiling and arches are the entirety of the book “The Art of War”. Very unique. The staff was extremely attentive and very warm and welcoming. To start we got the oysters and the tuna tartare. Both were pretty great. I like the oysters more than the tuna tartare. For an entrée, I got the salmon and my boss got the fried chicken. We should’ve brought a massive appetite because the serving sizes are extremely generous. Overall, the food was good. I wouldn’t say it was great, but definitely something to experience while you’re in Charleston. We only had one mild issue, but we discussed it with the waiter and he offered what help he could

From the moment you step inside, this restaurant makes an impression. The space is striking and full of character—it was formerly a church, and the architecture has been beautifully preserved. The artwork on the ceiling alone is worth admiring.

We began the evening at the bar with cocktails and PEI mussels, which were absolutely delicious and a perfect way to start the night. Once seated at our table, the service continued to shine. Our waitress heard it was our anniversary and took exceptional care of us throughout the meal.

We started with the bacon and melon—wow. It was incredibly flavorful, and quite generous in portion size. For mains, we ordered the lamb burger and the special seafood pot pie. Both dishes were excellent, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and served at well-timed intervals. We ended the evening with the banoffee pudding dessert, which was a lovely finish.

Overall, the food was outstanding—bold flavors, careful presentation, and consistently friendly, attentive service.

The only drawback to an otherwise wonderful experience was feeling slightly rushed toward the end of the meal. We arrived on time for our reservation and were there for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, yet the dessert menu was presented before we were halfway through our entrées. A dessert spoon was placed on the table before we had ordered dessert, and the bill arrived as our dessert was served. While I understand the need for table turnover, a two-hour dining window is generally expected unless a time limit is communicated in advance at the time of reservation.

That said, this is still a fantastic place, and we truly enjoyed our anniversary dinner.

Sunday brunch here was a win all around. The coffee and scones were spot-on, the French toast was perfectly indulgent, and the hot honey chicken sandwich struck that ideal balance of sweet, spicy, and savory. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the building itself is stunning—one of those spaces that makes you want to linger a little longer. A great place to settle in for a relaxed, memorable brunch.

This restaurant offers a memorable experience that I’d recommend. Our server, Marco, was outstanding! The drinks were enjoyable, though a bit small. The food had great flavor, but the portions were modest and my steak lacked quality. We also tried the lamb stew—tasty, though slightly oily—but the potatoes were absolutely delicious. The ambience was exceptional, and the service was impressively fast despite the crowd, so be sure to book ahead. Overall, it was a pleasant visit, though the food didn’t quite wow me. We didn’t catch the show this time, but we have in the past and the dancers are excellent. Live music added to the vibe. Keep in mind, your visit is limited to 120 minutes, so choose your time wisely. Almost forgot, the desert was delicious. Enjoy!

Cocktails were good, food was just ok, service was ok.

Positive- Atmosphere is set in a beautiful old church and has a large bar for easy dining. We had 3 apps and 2 drinks for easy sharing.

Negative-the 4% “kitchen service fee” on the tab at the end of the night was not expecting and I wouldn’t dine back for dinner, but maybe would go back to that Earl Grey Cocktail.

Excellent restaurant. We went with a party of eight and had a great time. Our server Hana was fantastic offering lots of insight to the menu items and providing great service from start to finish. The braised bacon and melon and the Moroccan meatballs were great starters. The crispy pork loin stood out as an entree. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

This place is stunning! Many of the architectural details have been kept in tact. The staff were friendly, quick and knowledgeable. We had a glitch with our on line reservation and the hostess quickly fixed the situation. We were seated in the small room off the larger dining area. We found it less noisy and cozy. My friends had the crab cake and fried chicken. They loved it. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I had the summer salad. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. For me-it was a bit too heavy on the kale.

Fun restaurant with a large bar and friendly service. Fried chicken was some of the best we have ever had, crunchy coating with a little note of sweetness and deliciously juicy and tender. Chicken is bone in which is very hard to find in a restaurant. Meatloaf was good but nothing memorable. Southern salad was great, fresh crunchy greens with a creamy dressing, not overdressed. Hummus an chips they give to start is a nice treat but hummus is a little bland. Would definitely return to try more food options and get the fried chicken again. Pepe was our bartender and he was so friendly and helpful, explaining the writings on the ceiling and answering our menu questions. Great service!!!
