The quality has been up and down here for years but more up than down. Down quality is still better than most other places up. We normally go with a larger group (8 or more) and they can fit us in. I will be back like always. Overall I’d give them a 93%

Small town vibes with fantastic food and quick service! All the food was hot and fresh and came out much faster than expected. My husband and I ordered far too much food, but who doesn’t love leftovers? Portions were great and the cost was too.

We each had a lunch entrée, which came with the soup of the day, a choice of egg roll or crab rangoon, and fried rice. We also ordered three appetizers—crab rangoons(6), pan fried dumplings(8), and egg rolls(2). For all this, plus two beverages, we paid 54 dollars and some change. We live in Ames, and this meal would probably cost $80+ if we were there and it wouldn’t have been half as good. For real, I’ve tried to find decent Chinese in Ames and none of it has impressed yet.

The rangoon filling was creamy, savory, and delicious. Some places make odd sweetened crab rangoons and I absolutely hate it. These were perfect. The egg rolls were beautifully crisp, and the pan fried dumplings were cooked perfectly and HUGE. The sauce they came with had a kick, too.

My cashew chicken was perfect and well balanced between the veggies, meat, and nuts. My husband’s sweet and sour chicken was good as well.

I will say that the egg drop soup was a bit too thick for me, but that’s a personal preference and my husband enjoyed it.

Overall, fantastic and will definitely go again if we pass through town again.

Stopped for a place to eat and decided to stop here. Good quick Chinese food. I had the cashew chicken lunch special. Perfect sized serving for lunch.

I love the service and food here and used to order take out almost every week. But the last few years we get less ingredients, and food is served in a plastic small container with a higher price tag. I want the original chinese box container and the original ingredients so I can go back to ordering once a week. Prices increased beyond my budget and quantity is not worth price.
Unfortunately this business has lost customers and is not long from closing.

Server was nice. BUT the food had NO flavor. (No stars) The orange chicken didn’t taste like orange chicken. The Generals chicken and the orange chicken tasted the same. Bland and like oil. The sticky rice was sticky and tasted like rice. First and last time here. Hy chi tastes better.

I went today during the homecoming crowd’s rush, so it was super busy. The place was packed and yet it didn’t take any more time than usual for my food to arrive. It was like any normal day as far as service went, with the only exception being they seemed rushed. I always order crab rangoons and beef lo mein, and I highly recommend both! I can’t remember a time I’ve ever left this restaurant unsatisfied and its been my favorite for years. Definitely 5 stars from me 🙂
