I used to order from here a lot, and it was great. Probably 5 years or so ago, but then it became a bit inconsistent. I started trying other similar restaurants, which were inconsistent too. I have come back to Chung Hing occasionally over the years, but it’s never been as good as it was for the first year or two. Sometimes it’s just ho-hum, but other times like today, it goes in the trash. It’s a lot of wasted food and money over the years, and I’m finished giving chances.
Today was disappointing yet again. The roast pork lo mein tasted like old pork that’s been in the fridge for 5+ days. It was completely inedible. The cream cheese rangoons were tough and hard with relatively large chunks of crunchy onions in the filling. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty good, maybe 3/5, except the accompanying “fried rice” was disgusting. It’s a moderately wet/soggy yellow rice with a bad flavor. It’s similar to some microwave rice I’ve had but tasted worse. I do not recommend it. I didn’t even try the egg roll, as those have been notoriously bad in the past.
It’s sad that this place so near to my house and which used to be really good has earned a place on my Do Not Dine list.

It’s a Chinese restaurant! The food is well priced and tasty. The crab Rangoon I got during my last visit was a hair over fried, I like might a light golden brown but the ones I got were much darker, but everything else was delicious. The sweet and sour chicken, in particular, was some of the best I’ve ever had. Pick up was quick and easy, and my food was ready basically as soon as I could have gotten there. All around, if you’re looking for a Chinese place for dinner, this is definitely a good spot to try!

4.5 stars for Chinese Lunch take out. $8.50 comes with Rice and Soup. Good value and food tasted good. I have ordered four dishes and they all look the same at first. I know the place does not serve authentic Chines food, so I am not judging them for not being authentic. I like the taste of the dishes that I have ordered. They were all cooked fresh.

I grew up in Wellesley just a short drive from Chung Hing so this was our family’s go-to for years. I usually get the Fried Shrimp. This time, we decided to try the Crab Rangoon and Sesame Tofu. The Rangoon had a really good crunch, but it was lacking crab flavor. The Sesame Tofu was very tasty- could’ve used just a little more spice. The Fried Shrimp comes out on top! I will be back to try more of the menu!

Awful! I ordered the Beef and Broccoli that’s *supposed* to come with pork fried rice and an egg roll for $12. Everything tastes as if it was cooked in one pan with everything else on the menu. The broccoli is water logged and tastes like it came from a broccoli and garlic sauce order. The pork fried rice had exactly 2 tiny pieces of pork and 3 pieces of onion and no egg like usual at all. Everything also tastes burnt. Every item, except the Fried Noodles I added on-which were crispy and great as usual-, had no flavor. Beef was plain, broccoli/garlic, and just rice. Each used to have distinct flavors and large portions. The portions esp for $12 was like the Pork Fried rice alone used to be. I used to get take out from here before the pandemic many times and was always happy. They even charged me extra for a small amt of sweet/sour sauce that used to be free(bc they don’t carry it in packets). I don’t know if it’s changed owners or what, but this was not at all what I used to get from them. Threw away nearly $19. I won’t be going back.

Why did it take moving our business to the same center to try this place?! We’ve lived in the neighborhood for 7 years and just tried this lovely little restaurant for the first time. My tofu and mixed vegetables was so good! The sauce wasn’t overly sweet and there was way more food than I could eat. My husband had beef lo mein and said it was good as any he’s had in the area. I’m so happy to have finally discovered how awesome this neighborhood restaurant is!

I was first introduced to Chung Hing as a kid. My family and I frequented this gem in Short Pump for lunch and dinner. The service (takeout or dine-in) is always quick but most importantly, warm and inviting besides the amazing food of course. I’m continuing the tradition of taking my children there now too and each time, they’re excited to try something from their wide variety of entrees. They have been the best Chinese restaurant in Short Pump through & through!

I ordered General tso to go. It wasn’t that tasty. I asked the lady for one more extra chillii spicy sauce little container and she refused to give me another one. Asked for one first. She was rude and has little to none customer service skills. I will never order food from this place again.

We have been getting take-out from them for over 25 years. It’s a great neighborhood place. Really set up well for take out. Only a couple of tables available.

Got orange chicken today that was soft on the outside and hard inside. Hard enough to mess my teeth up. Had to leave work to go to the dentist. I don’t recommend this restaurant if you value your work hours
