Update: Chulitos has me in a chokehold. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve returned. I’ve gained 5 lbs since they’ve opened.
The food here is on point. The green salsa is perfect! The Mexican sweet bread is the best I’ve had in a long time. I will absolutely return again, and frequently.

After visiting Chulito Panadería Taquería Bakery in Shiloh Plaza three times, I can confidently say it’s one of the absolute best spots for tacos, burritos, and authentic Mexican dishes you just won’t find anywhere else. Every bite tastes homemade — fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. The in-house bakery is just as impressive, with pastries that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the owners are two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Chulito is a true gem and an incredible addition to our city. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. Everything I’ve tried has been nothing short of amazing.

The quesabirria tacos were good, they were a little smaller than what I expected but they were flavorful. The sopes was ok, it tasted like something was missing but my fiance really liked it. He tried a concha and said that was really good as well. The horchata was disappointing to me but the host was super nice and didn’t charge us for it. This place was cute and reminded me of spots back home in Chicago, it felt comforting. We would definitely go back.

The birria tacos were spot-on and the tamales were good. However, best to get your order to go- the music was too loud and the two girls working when we were there were none too happy to be asked to turn it down. One did, barely, with quite a bit of attitude. Because of this we didn’t linger to buy any of the baked goods and probably won’t return. Too many other places with food just as good with much better service. Was so looking forward to this place based on the reviews but was ultimately disappointed. Seems like they’re only looking for Hispanic customers, not me. I did not feel welcome.

Food is delicious but they’ve forgotten a couple items of my order twice now. My first order I ordered a Gordita and got in the car and had to turn around because it wasn’t in the bag – turns out they forgot to ring it up even though they recalled the order prior to finalizing. Second time I ordered a drink and same thing happened. Third time I went they did get everything right so maybe just needs some time to adjust! So far we like them! ☺️

I did not take many pictures of my food because I ate it so quickly, but this place has great food and AMAZING pastries.
The staff were all friendly too, which was a bonus. The restaurant was clean and decorated quite cutely.
Overall, I definitely recommend giving this place a visit!

From tacos to treats, this place is amazing! We’ve had lunch there (delicious) and bought baked goods (amazing), and I special-ordered my birthday cake from them. Expensive, but worth every penny! Looked and tasted great. We will definitely keep coming back!

The most delicious and stunning looking tres leche cakes ever!! These cakes turned out better than I imagined and my guests were complementing them all night and asking where I got them from! They tasted so rich and moist with just the right amount of leche! I got one strawberry filling and the other Oreo filling, both were sooooooo delicious! I’m so glad they print images on cakes and do any design you ask for! They are truly talented with their work and price fairly. Thank you for making our night extra memorable with these beautiful and tasty cakes!!
