First time at Chuck’s Fish after all my family and friends said this place was amazing, and it absolutely was. Walking in this place had an awesome vibe, and the lighting was perfect. The spring rolls were the best I’ve had at any restaurant in Birmingham. I ordered a cup of gumbo, and it was top-notch and full of flavor. The sushi tasted so fresh and was outstanding. All of the entrees were out of this world, and they gave a huge portion on each dish. We had a party of 16 guests, and not one person complained. Megan was our waitress, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. We will definitely be back.

I’d give Chuck’s Fish a solid 4 stars. Walking in, the dining room felt really nice warm lighting, different seating options, and the specials of the day displayed as soon as you enter. It was a packed house on a Wednesday, which was great to see… families everywhere, good energy, and a lively atmosphere.
The menu is huge sushi, seafood, steaks so many options, which I loved. We started with the miso soup, and it was okay, definitely had flavor. Our server Jack was the highlight of the service. Super cool, very attentive, made sure we were good the entire time, and explained the menu really well.
For food, we had the TNT tuna sushi. It was good, but the tuna was a bit on the dry side until we dipped it in soy sauce and added a little wasabi then the flavor came alive. My date ordered the steak, and listen… that steak was the STAR. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. The seasoning, the crust, the char everything was on point. I ate more of his food than mine.
We didn’t like the crab cake at all. It was flat, pasty, and honestly didn’t taste or look like a crab cake. It reminded me more of a potato cake.
For my entrée, I had the blackened swordfish special with crawfish lima beans, and a potato cake. The meal was light and enjoyable, but it didn’t have the bold flavor I was hoping for. I wanted the swordfish to really shine, and it didn’t.
The drinks were also just okay nothing special or memorable.
BUT dessert saved everything. The white chocolate strawberry cheesecake was phenomenal. Soft, delicate, flavorful, beautiful… literally one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. I’m still thinking about it. If it wasn’t for the crab cake, this would’ve been a five-star review.
Overall: Great atmosphere, amazing steak, incredible dessert, and a menu with tons of variety. I’d definitely go back, especially for that cheesecake and Steak maybe even I’ll try the Shrimp & Chorizo Rigatoni!

Huntsville not Birmingham!! 3rd time here. Entrees delicious. They finally have bread but its a NO. The bread is entirely too thick, No flavor and its not complimentary. We were charged $9 for bread (see picture below)Fine dining should not charge for bread… CHAR & CONNERS DONT! Bring complimentary bread back and make it simple such as toast.

My experience with the food is that it has typically been excellent, and the service in the restaurant is as well, but recently ordered 2 steaks which come with potatoes and asparagus. This was a pickup order. When I got home and took the food out of the box and then onto the plate, this was the volume of the order. 3 asparagus stalks for the vegetable. And the other plate for my wife was the same. $98 worth of food plus tax and gratuity. I spoke with the manager who stated that “because of how expensive the asparagus is, we’re going with 3 stalks”. I certainly expected more volume for this meal, to say the least. Way too expensive IMO for what you get.

I thought the seating setup was weird and not inviting or desirable; especially if I were on a date. It could be a nicer place if they had a dress code. Too many men and women wearing shorts; and men wearing flip flops. But, other than that, I was there for a 70th birthday dinner. My dish was good (grouper) and mostly everyone liked their meal. Except the host, and the birthday lady, did not like their food at all (seafood platter). I do believe though, that the prices are way overpriced for the food and atmosphere.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Chuck’s Fish Birmingham. Started with the sashimi, which was absolutely delicious – clearly very fresh and expertly prepared.
For my entrée, I went with the parmesan crusted grouper and it did not disappoint. The fish was cooked perfectly and the parmesan crust added a wonderful flavor and texture.
Even though I’m typically not a bread pudding person, I decided to give theirs a try and I’m so glad I did – it was fantastic! They really know how to elevate a classic dessert.
The service and atmosphere were both top notch, making the whole experience even better.
Highly recommend Chuck’s Fish for anyone looking for quality seafood in Birmingham!
