Stopped here for lunch at 11a on Father’s Day. The special sandwich was excellent and I had an IPA. Then we walked down and around Seward Park and back.

This was maybe the worst burger I’ve had in a while. Thin, salty, dismal toppings and the whole thing feel apart part way through eating it. The fries were served cold. And I’ve been so eager to give this place a try! I expected more from Chucks.

I’d come back for the beer and book store, but definitely not the food. And at those prices? Yikes, what a mess.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Seek this place out
Solid burgers, delicious fries, and an amazing beer selection.
Sadly, the inside is no longer dog friendly.

For awareness, everything fried is fried in the same, very chicken-y oil. The fries, the tots, the tofu katsu sandwiches. Maybe you’re into that, maybe not. We were not happy with the surprise, and additionally found the fried items to be excessively oily, and the tofu itself too soft to hold up to being prepared this way. Wish they still catered many of the previous, more diverse, food options!

This is a major hub for this neighborhood… a casual place with great energy that shares space with Third Place Books. It is constantly busy. I really like everyone on the staff… Very friendly and quick to help.

However, the food was not good. The “Monster Fries’ is a paper boat with fries, topped with a Burger Patty, sauce, cheese and onions. The biggest problem was the meat… cut into tiny pieces probably before it was cooked… It was dry, over cooked to oblivion, and did not seem like a whole patty. $13 was far too much for this and it was my dinner…I was pretty sad about it.
The German Potato Salad, $6, was extremely under seasoned to the point of being tossable. My dining partners Bratwurst was fine. The coffee was good
I’ll definitely have a beer or coffee here but won’t waste money on eating again. Big disappointment.

The place is really chill but the food is less than. It needs a makeover or something. I wasn’t impressed. I ordered the katsu tofu sandwich and fries and it felt like food from a gas station that was sitting there for a while.

I ordered the bacon burger right when they opened at noon, and it hit the spot! It was enough to split with my husband (though my appetite is probably less than most). The special sauce was probably my favorite part, but the carmelized onions and great portions of bacon also were great. Also, the person taking orders was very helpful and friendly, and the food came out quick!

It’s not clear online, so just in case you are a celiac searching “gf” in the reviews this one is for you: Gluten free burgers buns, fries, tots, and katsu! Dedicated fryer! For real!

Endless drink and snack choices. Perfect for any group.

Oof, absolutely middling burger and fries. Bent Burger is less than a block away and awesome. Why did Chucks change from housing Muriel’s to food trucks to now this? Eat here if you can’t be bothered to cross the street and have already had a couple pints
