Chuck’s BBQ in Clovis was a delicious choice for dinner on a whim. The prices for this counter serve BBQ joint were fair, considering the price of food these days. The plates offered value with delicious food. The man n cheese was good, the beans had great flavor, and the rice pilaf was perfectly savory. We purchased Brisket and Tri Tip. Both plates were tender and flavorful with and without BBQ sauce.
If you’re looking for a solid casual BBQ place for less than the cost of a comparable sit down place, Chuck’s is definitely a good choice.

I went here and got half a chicken. Probably the most tasteless barbecue I’ve ever gotten. When you have to start relying on barbecue sauce to finish, then you know it’s not good. Not really a warm place/atmosphere to where you want to take your friends (not dirty, just a sterile, and bare bones kind of vibe). But the service was good. To be honest I think it’s one of those places that get started up because the majority of people who want to start a restaurant business want to do barbecue. Hopefully they just improve over time. I say this because I love barbeque and think it’s great when a city has a variety of such spots.

Small little hole-in-the-wall that really surprises you with its large portions and fantastic flavor. Every dish feels hearty and well-prepared, showing that they put care into their cooking. The quality of the food is impressive for such a modest spot, and it’s clear they focus on taste and generosity. My only wish was that the BBQ sauce had been a bit better, as with this level of food, it deserved a sauce that could truly match its quality. Even so, it’s a spot I’d happily return to for the portions and flavors alone.

I’ve been to most of the places in town that serve beef barbecue. Dog house Grill, The Meat Market, etc. Chuck’s Barbecue has by far, the BEST beef barbecue and potato salad. And their banana pudding is excellent, although not on my list to buy due to its price. But I wasn’t disappointed in the quality of the product. It was big enough for me to share so that helped. I highly recommend Chuck’s Barbecue for your barbecue beef needs!!

One word, “Damn Good!” Ok, I hope y’all get what we’re telling you. Forget, Joe’s, Luke’s, or Westwood. Don’t waste your hard earned $$ on those places. We tried Chuck’s searching for a place to cater a function and definitely not a disappointment. The food was tasty delicious and plentiful. We really scored tonight as the special was chicken thighs which was thrown in since we got two plates. Honestly though, we would’ve been fine sharing one plate even with my appetite. Do yourself a favor and head over to Chuck’s, you won’t be disappointed. We definitely weren’t.

First experience with this restaurant, and the food is nothing special. Service was good. Mac & cheese seemed, rushed, grainy and bland, beans were much of the same. Meat was tender, but had no flavor other than for the barbecue sauce placed on it.

The employees on todays visit were all super nice. Provided recommendations based on my mothers preferences. This time I (we) tried:
Pulled Pork – 5 ⭐️ the port is juicy and and smoky just as it should be. You don’t even need BBQ sauce. I’m sure the sandwich is delicious as well. It’s hard to find pulled port that doesn’t have too much fat. Their pulled pork is perfect!
Boneless Ribs – 5 ⭐️ sometimes one thing that sucks about ribs is not knowing if you’re going to get enough meat. The boneless ribs are excellent. The they do not disappoint. You get all of the benefits of eating ribs not hanging to hassle with the bones. The portions are generous. It’s definitely more meat than you’d get with 3 bones. (I haven’t tried the bone in … but it this is easier for us ladies) the sauce is delicious … perfect amount of sweetness to complement the meat.
Brisket – 5 ⭐️ OMG! Talk about tender and smoky meat. It’s so tender much chewing isn’t required. Definitely someone that will be come my standard. Smokey and tender as it should be. Yum!
French fries – 5 ⭐️ I am a french fry freak. I love fries … over the burger or whatever I’m eating. The fries are perfectly crisp and seasoned to perfection. I get them for my son, but I end up stealing a couple of fries because they’re so good. Out of all of the burger stands and restaurants, Chucks has the perfect crinkle cut fries. They’re addicting actually. Get some ranch on the side and you’re in heaven.
Banana pudding – 5 ⭐️ OMG I love banana pudding. Theirs is very rich and with the price. It’s nowhere near generic for sure. Probably the best banana pudding I’ve had. (I’ve made the easy version and the baked version …. It’s GOOD)
Jenny – 10 ⭐️ what an amazing owner. She cares about every customer. She is very approachable and generous. I had a nice conversation with her today … she’s super down to earth and takes care of her clientele. I wish more owners were like this.
So, next time, which will be soon, I am coming back for the tri tip fries. I love that the prices don’t break the bank like other BBQ places that charge by the lbs.
Trust me one meal will make 2 or 3!

Ordered catering for 30 people and it was more than enough food. Portions were good but the food was even better. EVERYONE at the party said it was the best tri tip they ever had. They accommodated for my big order that I placed less than 48 hours in advance. Jenny was very sweet on the phone. Will definitely be ordering again. Didn’t get a picture of the bean or Mac n cheese but they were also delicious definitely recommend

I placed an order for pick up and was late to picking it up as I got stuck at a different commitment. They kept my food hot until I could arrive an extra 15 minutes later and it was still hot by time I got home and sat down to eat. The service was super friendly and I felt very welcomed there. The lady that helped me over the phone and the gentleman that rang me up were so sweet and brought me my food where I was sitting and waiting for it to be packed up. (Its the details people) As for the food the tri-tip was by far the most tender piece of meat I think I’ve ever had. You didn’t even have to use your teeth to take a bite it just fell apart. Amazing. Also the mashed potatoes were to die for. I personally wasn’t a big fan of the Mac and cheese but that’s just my personal taste. I’m a kraft girlie (I know,I’m a disgrace). I would absolutely 100% without a doubt come back and get two sides of mashed potatoes with the tri-tip. My boyfriend got the burnt ends and pulled pork with pilaf and Mac and he loved his food as well he just isn’t as dramatic as I am lol. I would recommend to come here and try the food if you’ve never been it’s worth the price.
