I really wish I had ordered more, but it was a quick stop on my way to ATL. Old school BBQ joint, it was busy on an early Saturday afternoon. As busy as it was when I arrived, that was the lull before the rest of the area came looking for their smoked meats. I settled on the Saturday special which was 2 chopped pork of chicken sandwiches. I also ordered a peanut butter pie cause hell yeah! The sandwich was smokey and slightly sweet/spicy. I would get extra pickles next time, and the coleslaw was odd to me. It wasn’t *normal southern style I can tell you that. Saved a sandwich for later but the pie barely lasted until my sandwiches were ready. The ribs looked so good too, next time.

Really wanted to have a mind blowing review, the pork sandwich was moist but not real smoked/grilled flavor. The ribs were tiny, dry and again no smoked/grilled bbq flavor. Baked beans were ok no crazy add-ins like onions or seasoning. Now the coleslaw was delicious, minced, moist and very good. What I can say is the potato salad was off the chain. It was POTATOES not tons of add-ins eithe. Just genuine delicious potato salad, they were chucks of well cooked potatoes and very creamy. the staff was super kind and helpful, I hate that I cant give a better review and I drove a LONG way to try them out. Pricing is not bad and the sweet tea is perfect.

WOW, the BBQ is delicious! We ordered ribs and added their house sweet BBQ sauce, it was amazing! My wife wanted to try the nachos and pulled pork, I made it a double portion meat and again added the house sweet BBQ sauce and again we loved it! Yummy, yummy, yummy! The staff were friendly and they have indoor seating for about 80 people. They had a constant flow of to-go orders, which is not surprising at all. We were surprised with the generous portions and reasonable prices too. Give them a try

The other day I stopped by because they were open early, ordered a chipped bbq sandwich, and instantly fell in love. It was the BEST chipped barbecue sandwich I’ve had in years! I was so mad at myself for only ordering one. I used to drive past this place all the time without stopping, and I’m so glad I finally gave them a try. The customer service was great too, which is always a big plus for me.

Been traveling the country and eating BBQ all along the way, and Chuck’s provided the best ribs I have ever tasted. Perfectly cooked – nice and tender with a bit of bite near the bone. Great flavor – nice and smoky with a peppery kick; not needing any sauce, though the vinegary sauce is an excellent compliment.
We also tried out the chopped chicken sandwich. While it was delicious; generous with the pickles (I loved that there was a pickle panini pressed into the top bun!), it was nothing to write home about. The sides were okay, not a super creamy coleslaw, slightly above average beans, but the favorite was the macaroni salad – nice and creamy and refreshing.
Don’t sleep on the pies!

This is by far the best bbq in Alabama. The quality and pricing has been so wildly consistent over the last 20 years or so that I’ve eaten here. The value is unmatched. The Sandwich plate that comes with two sides is less than 9$. The best sandwich is the Pork Chipped on the Block and I ask for mine to be inside meat. Its absolutely lights out and crazy how good it is everytime.

Really good bbq chicken sandwiches and fries. The slaw was not the best but still good. Prices are fair and quality of bbq chicken excellent with not fatty skin.
Restrooms are clean and tables are wiped between customers. The sweet tea was great and not like some places where the tea tastes like sugar water. Plenty of parking and easy access in and out.

I had their famous chipped sandwich and sweet tea. I say it was pretty good. The tea could have been little sweeter, but then I again I like it pretty sweet. I will have to try some other stuff next time.Try them out, the staff was friendly and nice also.
