I was so excited to hear that they are now offering breakfast on the weekends. So when I visited today, I was super excited.
The employees here were very friendly, super helpful. And very attentive.
I got here pretty early, and it was nice, but this place definitely got packed. And made it slightly difficult to get food because of the lines.
Overall, the breakfast experience was amazing. With a few caveats.
On the Chuck-A-Rama website, dimension that there would be breakfast tacos and breakfast burritos. But sadly neither of those options were available. Which is honestly the one thing I was looking forward to the most.
I did enjoy it. But, I probably won’t visit until it’s been here for a few more weeks, and let it iron out all the details.
The buffet offers a wide selection, but quantity clearly outweighs quality. Most dishes were serviceable at best, lacking freshness, seasoning, or care in execution. Nothing stood out as particularly good, and much of the food felt tired or overly institutional rather than comforting or well prepared.
The layout and atmosphere reinforce that impression. The dining room feels dated and utilitarian, prioritizing throughput over comfort or ambiance. It is functional, but not pleasant, and it does little to encourage lingering or enjoyment.
Service was adequate but minimal. Plates were cleared and basic needs were met, but there was little warmth or attentiveness beyond that. The overall experience felt transactional rather than welcoming.
This location may still appeal to large groups, families with picky eaters, or those seeking sheer volume for the price, but for anyone prioritizing food quality or experience, it is not worth going out of your way for. There are significantly better dining options in the area.
We’ve eaten at this particular Chuck-O-Rama many times before, and have kept coming back because we loved the food, atmosphere, and service. However, given our reason for going tonight, I was hyper aware of what was going on. I hoped my friend’s final meal (and experience at dinner) would be perfect. Praise God (and those hard workers) it was.
I wanted to point out a few things he pointed out tonight. First was our server, Jason. In my friends words “I’ve been in sales a long time. That young man just has an aura about him. You can tell he just wants to be of good service.” I was really impressed with how hard he was trying to help. Our drinks were refilled at perfect intervals and our used dishes were cleared away promptly, it was obvious he was watching. He was also perfectly friendly, polite, and smiled a lot.
Second was the Customer Experience Manager, Ashley. She was the one at the register when we came in. She was super friendly and laughed with us as we were joking around at the register. Later, she was also the one who helped us get roast beef and ham. She offered us the au jus and sautéed onions for the roast beef and some other sauce for the ham. My friend was SO happy with the way the sauce accented the ham. It made my day to hear him rave about how good it was. (He also raved about his salad, the orange chicken, and the ‘Berry Cake.’ “Have you tried the Berry Cake?” He said “It’s delicious. It’s this perfect mix of creamy and fluffy.”)
We had a window seat. The seats and table were spotless when we arrive. The temperature was great. The restaurant wasn’t to loud, such that it was distracting us from our conversation, and it wasn’t to quiet, such that we felt awkward talking about serious things. It was perfectly comfortable.
Also while we were there tonight I realized that I associate Chuck-O-Rama with happy events in my life. Things like birthday parties and graduations. It was strange to go there for a bitter-sweet event. As I spoke with my friend, he apologized to me for “being a downer” by complaining about the difficulties he’s facing. He said he couldn’t see the good he was doing in the world, now that he was so handicap with his heart problem. I told him he was doing good, by being there with me at dinner tonight, and talking. I said “We get to experience life together. And that’s a beautiful thing.” He brightened up and said “That’s good in this world.” Thank you Chuck-O-Rama corporate team and the local team for creating a company and restaurant were people like me and my friend can go and “experience life together.”
Question: Where do you take one of your best friends to dinner for what is quite likely his last meal?
Answer: Wherever he wants to go. (Don’t be surprised if he or she says “Churck-O-Rama,” I wasn’t.)
PS. I think the Customer Experience Manager was named Ashley. If I’m wrong, I hope she will forgive me.
The service I must say was very nice. Everyone seemed happy to be at work and gave off good energy. The food was cooked very well and I had no complaints aside from trying foods I thought I wouldn’t like anyways. The seafood night was delicious. Yummy battered and deep fried fish. Yummy crispy battered prawns with some fries and fry sauce! All in all a great experience with delicious food all at a good budget for a date night! Also great for families. Love the festive decorations put into the restaurant as well!
But yeah! Love coming for lunch or so for a good and clean meal! Great place!
