Love this place! Just ordered the carnitas tacos and were excellent. It was a nice balance of taste between the tortilla, meat, onions and cilantro. Juicy, not oily or dry. The people are always nice and the service is solid. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Highly recommend, it’s my go to taco place in Raleigh.

What a letdown.
Chubby Tacos really lived up to the name, the food was tired and sluggish. The tortillas tasted like they’d seen better days… probably last week. I ordered the birria plate, and the consomé was scraping the bottom of the pan, mostly onions with a side of disappointment. Honestly, the best part of the whole visit was the music. At least the playlist had some flavor, because the food sure didn’t.

I’ve been to chubbys numerous times (usually on tuesday for $2 tacos) and It’s a mediocre taco spot with a shit liquor selection but we always have the best time when we’re here!! Their salsa bar is great along with the Chile relleno taco and the tortas too!!

Got lunch at Chubby Tacos for the first time. Good variety of salsas at the salsa bar. The birria were fantastic. The consome was smokey and flavorful and made every dipped bite delicious.

I do not understand how this place has so many raving reviews. Our entire meal genuinely tasted like it was microwaved. The rice was hard. The refried beans tasted like canned chili and were heavily over salted. Our drink was so heavily overpowering that it was undrinkable. The only saving grace to me is that they do have a lot of options and the staff is amazing, very kind and helpful. The chips and queso were awesome. We expected that as expensive as this place is that it would’ve been to a higher standard. Very disappointed and we feel taken advantage of.

This meal was delivered to our home. When the delivery arrived an order of guacamole was missing. However, the store manager made sure that we quickly received the guacamole. She went out of her way to ensure that we were satisfied customers. She should be commended for providing such good scustomer service. The food was great…as usual.

Great tacos and a few others. I really like their torta sandwich. Semi self serve. You queue to make your order and then find a seat. Seating is “cozy” with small booths or two person high tops or the bar.

Love that Chubby’s does specials like $2 tacos on Tuesdays (great way to stack up on Al Pastor and Carne Asada without breaking the bank). The staff was efficient even when the place was packed, and I enjoyed chatting with friends over a basket of chips while we waited. My Fried Shrimp Taco was crispy and flavorful, and the Rice and Beans Taco is a clever option if you’re trying just one or two things. A fun, casual spot with good variety.

I am currently 8 months pregnant and came here with my mom I just wanted some nachos. The guy behind the counter was not trying to come to us not only for the order but to give us anything. Even had an attitude because we needed to go boxes. I literally can’t get up and go back and forth. It just wasn’t that serious to be having weird energy about coming to our table and actually serving.
