Chubby Mermaid Brewing Co. (CMBC) is a locally owned and operated startup brewpub in Bonita Springs, Florida which aims to serve beer, wine and food from their in-house kitchen. CMBC aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the local South West Florida (SWFL) community as well as its seasonal residents and booming tourism industry while producing locally crafted beers backed by science and a shared passion for damn good beer.

Fantastic, eclectic selection of unique brews, there’s something for every beer drinker here. I couldn’t choose, so I flighted it! All concocted and brewed by everyone’s favorite sloth of the sea, the gentle manatee. Perhaps that part is untrue (I’m told by my server it’s a lovely duo of humans), but the beer is definitely worth the stop, if not the chance to hug a manatee!

Enjoyable brewery! Place is still on the newer side at the moment and working out some kinks, but that doesn’t mean it’s not already a quality spot. The beer is tasty; had a hazy IPA and barleywine. Also had a giant pretzel and nachos with my group, and both hit the spot. Josh (brewer) is great and the place has a solid mojo. The bar area can fill up quick, but there’s a good amount of seating around the place. Two gender neutral bathrooms and a decent amount of parking in the lot. I’ll definitely be back sooner than later.

Such a great little brewery! I was looking for a place to grab a bite with my mom where we could just linger and chat for a bit and this did not disappoint.
I tried one of their blonde beers, which was nice and smooth. Honestly, the food was a shocking treat – delicious! We split a giant pretzel and a cheeseburger and both were excellent! The pretzel has a great crunch on the outside with a chewy center and the bacon jam on the burger is insanely good.
This is a little gem in Bonita Springs!

We stopped in for a quick drink and we were glad we did! Lots of yummy beers to choose from and such a cute cozy vibe. The service was quick and very friendly! They had some live music and a packed house. We loved it! We didn’t eat so we can’t comment on the food but a couple burgers came out while we were sitting at the bar and they looked so good!

A couple things about this place.
Yes it is a bar concept, they have a limited food menu, but the four of us as a small family sat in a booth/table and loved it. My daughter had the pizza, I ended up getting getting the supreme, whole my wife had chicken fingers. All of the food was tasty and very good.
For all of you NA Drinkers, typically when I have gone to bars or even breweries, they only have one or two NAs. This one has several from Athletic Brewing. I ended up having the Belgium White which was very good.
The lady that helped us was super kind and polite as was the gentleman.
Plenty of seating and they have an upstairs as well. There were quite a few people that were there, but still, plenty of places to sit.
I do want to note though we didn’t see any margaritas, or mixed drinks like a Pina Colada, that were on the menu, which makes sense considering it is a Brewery.
My family and I had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back.

I’ve been waiting for this new brewery to open for a long time now, and finally that day has come. We tried most of the beers on tap and were pleased for the most part. The barmaid who poured our beers was very friendly and informative. She told me she wasn’t there on day one but loves her job and we could tell by her enthusiasm. The cozy little taproom is conveniently located behind some other commercial properties. It was fairly busy on the weekday afternoon when we visited. All of the seats at the bar were taken and we noticed that all the tables along the large window on the south side of the space were available. We noticed the sun was shining brightly through that massive glass wall though. The tables away from the window were already taken too and despite the available seats along the window, others were standing. Since we were there for the beer, we took a seat in the bright sunshine. As we stayed there and tried more beer, it did get a little warm on the head and uncomfortable. Every new business has growing pains and we understand that. Management should consider window tint or some kind of blinds. As far as we are concerned, it’s simple. We will come back next time after dark. We liked the beer, and that was the main point of our visit. Hopefully, Chubby Mermaid will work out all the kinks in their opening days and enjoy much success with this great little brewery.
