The food here is amazing, with every dish packed with vibrant, fresh flavors that leave you craving more. The cute little tables, decorated with table lights create such a cozy and charming vibe and you can read your menu and see the food. The waiter was the absolute best! Chubby Cat combines my favorite things: high quality sushi, creative izakaya dishes, solid drinks, and cat theming.
Most importantly, the food is delicious. The sushi dishes have excellent ingredients like fresh fish, perfectly crispy nori, and bright touches. Tried the chirashi and two hand rolls (spicy blue fin, salmon lemon zest) and each was beautifully balanced. The hand rolls were larger than I thought they’d be, and they were excellent bites.
The chirashi was such a good dish. Sushi rice topped with different pieces of fish plus nice wasabi, a little bit of lemon, and chili crisp dollops. It let the fish shine with such a wonderful balance.
On the warm dishes side, things were equally delicious. The spicy miso clam soup reminded me of miso clam soup I’ve had in Japan, with excellent dashi flavors. The robata grilled chicken momo skewer was another high note, nice cook and flavor on it.
The final dish on this visit was the mushroom katsu. It’s breaded oyster mushrooms over Japanese curry with some classic curry veggies underneath. It was so unique and the perfect blend of flavors.
For the drinks, my husband and I tried the a highball and the samurai butter cocktail. Much like the soup, the highball reminded me of ones I’ve had in Japan in the best way. The samurai butter cocktail was also good.
The restaurant’s theming is another plus. It’s adorably cat themed with feline touches in so many spots.
Chubby Cat is a delightful addition to the Delray dining scene. It’s elevated but not stuffy, it has great drinks, and the food is exceptional. It’s the purrfect spot for a delicious meal!

Chubby Cat was an absolute standout! The food was incredible — every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and clearly made with a lot of care. I was genuinely impressed with how well everything was prepared. The service was just as amazing from Andrew. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, Chubby Cat exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

We had like a third of the menu and every single item was 10/10. We were extremely impressed. Our favorites were the cowgirl roll, the mentaiko pasta, and the wagyu curry dumplings. Highly recommend.

Hate leaving less than favorable reviews but this was just sub par across the board. Cocktails were fine, but we ordered some rotabata: chicken was dry with zero flavor. Edamame dumplings were ok, just not great. We ordered several other items but all four of us agreed this was just ok. Perhaps we’ll try again

I went with my family and was amazed by the creativity of the food and restaurant. It did not disappoint, the fish was very fresh, service was fast and the waiter was very nice. Best ramen and dumplings we’ve ever had. It was such a special experience overall. 10/10 recommend

Food was great from presentation to taste. Only entree we thought could use more seasoning was the aged ribeye. The service was great and attentive. We ordered a lot of dishes so they timed each entree to be made and brought out. The atmosphere was very cute and modern. You also choose your own cool chopsticks and the chopstick holders were even cute down to each decorated plate.

Wow this place is so so good! We made a last minute reservation for NYE. Reading the menu really got me excited because they had a lot of unique items with premium ingredients. The fish was also super fresh, the drinks amazing, and main dishes absolutely great. We even got to pick our chopsticks.
Honorable mentions: THE GARLIC EDAMAME- it was charred for a delicious smokiness with bonito flakes. The way they make it is different from any place we’ve been to. CHUBBY CAT FRIED RICE- I have no words for this one, it had an egg yolk to mix, seasoned to perfection, so so silky and delicious. It’s a must.

Been there for the first time, first so easy to find the parking just right in front of the Delray public parking building.then my first plate came it was a salad with romaine and pork belly it was one of the best salad I ever had highly recommended it look like cesar but after the first bite it brought me back to asia then I order sushi with blue fin toro and Ikura the roll was just like what I had in Japan the ingredients was fresh and definitely they use top quality very impressive, another dish that I love the most is the Branzino I had grilled Branzino in so many restaurants before Greek style, American etc. but what it’s make this one different I think because of the dry aging process that they claim It make the skin crispy hut in side is bursting with flavor and still juicy for the drink I got their little twist Old Fashioned it was great well balanced and love the way that the Bartender came to serve you right by the table. Will come back definitely
