Have not been here in a few years decided to stop in with my daughter. Was not greeted, we were just told sit down at a table. Prices are higher than expected. I ordered the red chile cheese fries and my daughter got the mini pizza. Received my order, the size of it surprised me but I began to eat it thats when I kept finding the skin part of the chile mixed in with the red chile. It was ruining my appetite to spit out the chile skin. Authentic chile should be peeled and strained correctly. The fries were good, but I was disappointed by my visit. I had asked for lemon with my water, waiter was not attentive and was very rude while I was paying for my ticket he was on the phone. Very impolite and not courteous left with no thank you.

I’ve eaten many pizzas in my day, but I will say that Chu Chu’s put out one of the best I’ve ever had today! The crust was perfect and the ingredients fresh. The chips and salsa were unique, the salsa had a sweetness to it that was a welcoming change from typical restaurant salsa. The crew here takes great pride in what they put out. We’ll definitely be back.

(Disclaimer: We were too hungry to remember pictures of the actual food before eating)

Pie head here…gotta try the pie everywhere I go, whether its just passing through or trying to establish a new long term relationship.

Still not quite sure how I ended up living on a Native American reservation, specifically the Zuni reservation (much too personal for restaurant review)…but even if I didn’t have such a knowledgeable guide, there’s basically no way to miss Chu Chu’s and not say to yourself, “yea, lets grab a bite to eat there”.

No, seriously, this place is right off the main road into town, and has a dominant presence like no other structure except maybe the brand new Halona Supermarket…the owner must be a billionaire by now.

So, I was already on my in for the Pizza, but without any pretense you’d probably never guess that their specialty is Pizza and Subs, but by the time you’re seated and get your menu with the Native American looking Chef Boyardee mascot on every page, you’ll probably get the hint.

A word about the venue itself….the place is massive!, well decorated with an authentic and unique decour that feels classy but home-y, and apparently serves as a community hub for birthday parties and many other social functions. Like, even the Governor eats at Chu-Chu’s once a week…its that big of a deal.

Interestingly enough, the entire reservation is dry, so don’t expect to wash away the inevitable and pleasant tingle of green chile from your palette with cold beer…this however does make a statement about the strength and quality of the food and drink menu.

We had a feast…starting with the standard XL Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza which I use as a reference for any first time patronage, except with a New Mexico twist; the aforementioned Green Chile, which was baked in just right, and enhanced the Pizza as opposed to hindering it. We also ordered a Brisket platter that I must say was as unique as it was delicious…specifically, compared to the more widespread Texas style, the cuts were thinner and less charred, but well carmelized with less salt, and lighter in color. (Will need to do a Youtube dive about that actually…)

Long story short, we had leftover Pizza to go, and I’ll definitely be back, with hopes of bumping into the Govna of course!

Special shoutout to Alex, the young and charming host, server, and manager on duty…apparently he’s been working there since the 1st grade, so if you have any questions, you should def ask him. He knows.

Thanks Alex, We’ll be back!

Waiter was rude and did not check up on us frequently. Food did not come out in a timely matter and when it did come out, it was cold to the touch. Really disappointing having to wait almost an hour for your food and not having a warm plate of food in front of you. I ordered the chicken parm expecting a breaded chicken but got an under cooked grilled chicken. Management was no help and lashed out when the problem was brought to her attention. You’re better off saving your time and money!!

Drove past this nice restaurant and am very glad I decided to go in.

One of the beet pizzas I’ve had in my life. The service was wonderful. The Chu Chu’s special pizza large was enough for four people and it was just me so the lemonade and pizza while enjoying the fabulous scenery was just a memorable experience.

The restaurant owner drops by and makes friendly small talk. They have all the time on the planet and no one is in a hurry.

Truly enjoyed it.

WOW! Couldn’t put IT down & didn’t want it to end! Had the pizza sub minus onions and peppers, added salami and green chilies. A bit on the high side at $10, if it was standard fare, however it was exceptional! They make their own bread for their sandwiches and burgers, as well. Just delicious!

If I could not leave a star I would. The establishment never greeted us as we entered.then wait 10mins to get a table. Drinks were without ice. Our food was horrible. Chkn tasted spoiled the fries were greasy and the oil they cooked in wasn’t changed had old burnt pieces. We never got refills or were checked on. We waited over 30mins for our food and it came one plate at a time. There were flies and other little flying bugs. This is forst and last time id go there.

Chu Chu’s pizza is AMAZING! Definitely recommend the food, the service was slow even with no one else in the restaurant so keep that in mind (they had A LOT of to go orders so I can’t completely blame them for being slow) but the food and the atmosphere inside are first class! Anytime we come through Zuni we will be calling in and ordering!¡! 4.5/5 stars!

I order your ex large sub today. My grand kids like you subs n pizza . but today was different your sub was not like what we order when we go home to Zuni to visit. There is only layer of ham and salame. So if am paying. $25-30. For an ex large sub I want to taste what I order. Don’t get wrong the kids like the pizza it that you subs were once 2-3″ thick to sub that are flat to 1 14″ like subway. So I hope next time I order. A get a. Sub that really cost $25.to $30. With enough meat which makes it taste like a Sub. And not just bread and greens
